    Why isn't lactose included? How does it compare to glucose and fructose?

    Not included because if you're strictly Primal you eat no dairy or low dairy. Butter and raw full-fat cheese are preferred choices and both are very low in lactose.

    Lactose is 50:50 glucose:galactose.

    Galactose produces a bigger insulin spike than glucose. Hence lactose is best avoided for anyone who is insulin resistant.

    For those who are insulin sensitive, milk and yoghurt are excellent post-workout foods, as they promote muscle growth and repair.
    F 5 ft 3. HW: 196 lbs. Primal SW (May 2011): 182 lbs (42% BF)... W June '12: 160 lbs (29% BF) (UK size 12, US size 8). GW: ~24% BF - have ditched the scales til I fit into a pair of UK size 10 bootcut jeans. Currently aligning towards 'The Perfect Health Diet' having swapped some fat for potatoes.
