    Hi everyone, I have been primal for about two months (starting in April) and have lost ~10lbs. However lately my weight loss has stalled. I think it is because I have a tendency to snack in the afternoon adding too many calories. Does anyone have tips for how to stop snack cravings? I don't crave any particular snack I just want to munch on something. Alternatively I was thinking of trying a 24-48 hour fast to jump start weight loss and get a feel for what my hunger signals really are, and what is just cravings.

    Old trick I used to resort to was chewing gum. If you need something mindless to do with your mouth, gum will do it.

    What are you snacking on? How many carbs are you taking in a day?

    My experience has been that if I eat a good breakfast I don’t feel the need to snack. I eat 2-3 eggs with some meat. If I do need to snack, I eat a small handful of almonds or macadamia nuts. And I eat them slowly, enjoying each one of them.

    I’ve also found that I have a smaller appetite now that I’ve begun experimenting with cold water baths in the evening. Although some might say the verdict is not in on the effectiveness of CT, I say it can’t hurt to give it a try for a few months.

    I snack on nuts/fruit leather because they are easy to keep in my desk at work. I'm not sure how many carbs I take in during the day however based on yesterdays meals I think it is about 75-100g which is higher than I was estimating

    The carbohydrate curve is nonsense. Disregard it. <100g of carbs a day might be too little.

    OP, where are you at in terms of your weight loss? Are you in vanity territory or are you seriously overweight? If you are actually overweight, how long have you been so?

    As others have said, to quit snacking, eat larger meals full of meat, fat, and vegetables.

    I grown up being a little pudgy, nothing you couldn't attribute to baby fat then college added about 30 lbs to that. I am about 30lbs away from my goal. For background I am 5'3" and currently 169lbs.

    Go big on protein for all meals. If you are 30 pounds out, I would drop the nuts and dried fruit snacks. If you are going to snack, which I don't see any problem with, maybe hit some protein/fat snack that have a little more bulk than nuts. Sardines? Cottage Cheese? Full Fat Yogurt? Hard Boiled Eggs. I eat pretty high protein and find it rare that I need to snack. You could also just drink some coffee when you feel like snacking
