    Primal Journal (JackieKessler)

    Primal Fuel
The first time I went primal was last year, from August 2011 until mid-November 2011. I was at my leanest, and hadn't weighed that little since high school. Then I got nervous because my cholesterol had skyrocketed (362), so for a while I did this weird primal/Mediterranean Diet combo. And then big-time stress happened, and I slipped back to a SAD.

Here I am, 13 pounds heavier than my leanest point and 15 pounds over where I want to be ideally. I have very little energy, despite doing tae kwon do about three times a week. I even attempted the Insanity Workout, made it to Day 15 (this past Monday), and then hit the brakes.

So I'm back on TPB. I'm kicking off today with Whole 30 for June. Rah!

My goals are to get more energy and a more positive outlook - and, of course, to lose a little weight (12 - 15 pounds) and a few inches (3 inches off hips; 1 - 2 inches off waist).

    Day 1

    Food/Beverage
    Water
    Coffee (black, no sweetener)

    Around 10:30 am
Leftover roast chicken (roasted only in kosher salt)
    Salad: romaine, bell peppers

    1:45 pm
    More leftover roast chicken
    Romaine
    Apple (medium)
    Water

    6:15 pm
Homemade meatballs (1 lb ground grass-fed beef, 1 egg, spices (garlic, onion, oregano, hot pepper, parsley, basil), in pot of Bove's marinara sauce, cook 40 min covered over med-low flame)
    Spaghetti squash
    Water

    9:30 pm
    1 cup (ish) organic strawberries
    small handful raw macadamias

    Vitamins
    3 Omega-3/fish oil (3,000 g)
    1 Vitamin D3 (5,000 IUs)

    WOD
    50-minute walk around the neighborhood

I definitely didn't eat enough this morning for brunch; by mid-afternoon, I was famished. I made sure to eat more at dinner -- I could have stopped with the hot dogs, but I still felt a bit hungry. Curious to see if I stay sated now until tomorrow.
