    Squid?

    Primal Fuel
I love the lil suckers (pun intended ), so tasty and chewy. But I'm concerned about how they are raised. I used to love shrimp but I avoid it because I can't afford wild shrimp, and from what I've read about farmed shrimp has certainly turned me off to them. Is squid just as contaminated as shrimp?

My local Asian market sells whole squid for ridiculously cheap. I was thinking about picking up a bunch. I'd clean them myself and then store them in my freezer. Currently I eat them very sparingly, but potentially I'd like to eat them maybe a few times a week. Good/bad idea?

am pretty sure squid isn't farm-raised, but what you get in markets is wild. i think you're good to go.
As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy and to make plans.

I don't think they farm raise them. They catch them by shining bright lights in the ocean. The squid are drawn to the light.

Wow, it is great to know they are wild caught and not farmed. At the market they were on sale for just $1.99 lbs, and I just couldn't believe they were so cheap. I tend not to eat fish due to their cost, but it looks like i can finally work them into my regular diet.

    I love squid... ADORE it!
Unfortunately I have been unable to find any that is not treated with a sodium solution prior to shipping/freezing.

Any tips on finding 'no sodium added' squid?

We get lots of fresh catch here in FL, and I go to the biggest proper fish monger in my area that I know of (the fresh counter at the major Asian Supermarket)... but I've never seen squid among it.
