Substitute for bread crumbs in burger recipes, etc?

    Primal Fuel
Can someone suggest what I can use as a substitute for bread crumbs when making burgers or cutlets? Seems like almond meal would be a mistake.

I've been thinking about this too. But are they really neccesday? What do the breadcrumbs really do? Especially in burgers. I've been making fish patties with roasted salmon and sweetpotatoe for my toddler. Eggs to help it stay together, but unfortunately, still needing the breadcrumbs.. what about rice crackers crumbs? At least that would be gluten free?

Hmmm, do they add a lot of extra taste, though? I was thinking about making lamb burgers.

I use eggs and a ton of herbs/spices. Don't even notice bread crumbs missing. Really you just need some bulk to help hold the thing together (which is why people use breadcrumbs-- to hold together). Herbs/spices does the trick.

I use coconut (dessicated) or if the ingredients are particularly damp (say grated zucchini or carrot etc), I use a small amount of coconut flour

In making meatballs, I've used a combo of finely diced onions, celery, cauliflower, and garlic.

LSA mix, I use it for crumbing and in fish cakes. I prefer my meat burgers as pure minced up (ground) meat - why contaminate it with other stuff?
