Well, I just came back from an amazing meal of lobster ravioli and tiramisu. For appetizers, I had homemade bread dipped in EVOO. All this was followed by a glass of dry red wine. It was with an old friend who made me laugh the entire time, on a patio on a street with great people watching and beautiful sunshine. Our meal lasted two hours and I would not have traded these memories, the food or the good positive feelings for anything else in the world.
The thought of missing out on memories like this to go home and eat my homemade beef pho stew alone is too unbearable for me- not matter how delicious it may be. Life is and should be about balance. Food is important, but it is not everything. Health encompasses so much more than that.
For the record. I easily "cheat" once a week. And I love it
