    Or all of the above?

*edit: Ha! I got a two for one.
That answers both Bloodorchid's post and Alex's.

You know, since some weird thing happened with my female twin before birth (after which she vanished) there is actually a fairly good chance that I actually am part female.
In all of the universe there is only one person with your exact charateristics. Just like there is only one person with everybody else's characteristics. Effectively, your uniqueness makes you pretty average.

    No.

It's incredibly common for their to be fraternal twins and one of them to simply die and be absorbed.
    Nothing else more complicated.

For anything else there never would have been an actual twin.

Chimerism is the result of two fraternal eggs fusing and becoming a single egg well before fetuses are formed, while the eggs are still in the splitting stage.
    Biology. It's cool.

It happened in the first trimester (when chimerism occurs) and I have at least one physical feature which could suggest it.

Although come to think of it, how the heck did they even know my twin was female at that point?

Dude... first trimester covers a shit load of developmental territory.

And chimerism can ONLY occur at the egg blastocyst stage (during division).

Once the embryo begin to form if they fuse they develop into conjoined twins.
The sexes of embryo are distinct at about 9weeks... that is in the first trimester.

    Biology. It's cool.

Also, there are no "physical" features that are considered necessarily indicative of chimerism in humans. Even odd colored eyes are normal without this happening. And that weird hair thing that shows up in animals... doesn't work the same in humans. It's completely normal to have hair that is colored differently on different parts of your body. I used to know a guy with dark brown hair... and FIRE crotch. His beard also showed some red when he didn't shave.

What is indicative of chimerism is having DNA tests that show different results for different tissues within your body.

    You try too hard sometimes.

Oh yeah... and there never would have been two heart beats, and no one ever would have known there were twins if chimerism occurred. It happens too early.
If two heart beats are detected then one goes away... it means that one twin died and was absorbed by the mother.
    Or you ATE it.

Steak, eggs, potatoes - fruits, nuts, berries and forage. Coconut milk and potent herbs and spices. Tea instead of coffee now and teeny amounts of kelp daily. Let's see how this does! Not really had dairy much, and gut seems better for it.
