Things I learned tonight... Katie Morgan (ala Katie Morgan's Sex Tips/Sex Quiz) is cute.

Thing I learned earlier this afternoon...
My nearly 100lb White GSD can somehow make himself nearly INVISIBLE and try to kill me.
He tripped me, nearly breaking my toe, causing me to fall onto my right hip and elbow.
I just laid there a while... OUCH.
He likes to lay close to me... and I turned and my foot caught him and I fell over him.
I don't know what part of him beat my toe up so bad (middle toe, right foot).
Baaaad dooooog!

AND, on to the rant about food...
Or not.
I'm still researching and processing.
Dinner was good tonight.
I found some organic, low sodium, chicken sausages... major score for me! They were actually low sodium enough that I would consider eating them, so really low, not just a token labeling thing.
So, I made myself a "Low Oxalate" dinner of onion, green apple, and cabbage with sausage... Deee-LISH-uuuussss!
And... I won't have to birth a jagged little rock from my kidney through my urethra from eating it, bonus.

And had to make husband something completely different...
Which is likely to be the theme in my house most days from here on out, at least for sides.

I find this concept to be a complete pain in the ass at this point because he doesn't like most of the substitutions and alternatives I will be eating.
Also... restaurants... eating in them will be an EPIC pain in the ass as well.

The recipe on the internez said this is how to do it... BUT, my base isn't exactly "white".

I'm probably going to learn some sort of valuable lesson.

The other night (this being a rather vague relative opening fragment meaning sometime in the last few weeks) I watched the movie Last Days, which is supposed to be some sort of account of the end of Kurt Cobain's life, along with the strangeness that was the general behavior of the rest of the band members and such. Only, because it is NOT the way any of the surviving folks would like things to be portrayed... all names were changed... and blah, blah, blah. I found it incredibly disturbing that he could have been so deeply depressed and everyone just let him self destruct. So sad.

The fellow that played "not Kurt", Michael Pitt, went on to play a lovely young chap in the HBO series Boardwalk Empire (which I do enjoy), but he was killed off at the end of last season. *sob*
I liked his character, but alas, he got just a bit too big for his britches... which is the same end that may soon come of Margaret if she doesn't tone her self down a bit as well too.

A long whiney post about food.
MUCH Low Sodium, Low Oxalate, Primal Diet nonsense to follow.

This will be easier if I list the things I CAN eat... with some broad strokes for foods that I CANNOT because they cover so much territory.
If it's not listed, it's safe to assume that I CANNOT eat it.
Feel free to be completely aghast on my behalf... I know I am!

I can have milk products. Because I drink delicious fresh, grass fed, raw stuff... Yay!
Adjusted for low sodium issues of course... which leaves out a load of cheeses.

I can have coffee...
I shall LIVE!

I can have meats!
Yummy... Also adjusted for anything that would include sodium.
For some reason tuna in a can, not so great... the sodium makes it a problem anyway.

I cannot eat anything Soy... who cares right!
Except for the small amounts of Soy sauce used for dipping sushi on occasion, and Miso used for soup on occasion.

I cannot eat nuts...
None of them. Fuck.

I cannot eat grains...
Except white rice, that's cool... sushi!
And wild rice is OK too evidently, as is fresh sweet corn (and popcorn in small doses)...
All things coconut are FINE!

I cannot eat legumes...
Except for black eyed/purple hull peas (strangely LOW in all bad things), baby lima/butterbeans, and Green peas/sugar snap peas/snow peas, so I may partake of them on occasion if I want something starchy.
(Also OK, cooked mung beans... and green split peas, like for soup. *shrug*)

I cannot eat potatoes...
Any of them. Fuck.

I CANNOT HAVE CHOCOLATE!
I'm pretty sure the universe hates me.

I cannot have black tea or green tea...
I CAN have sodas... umm, NO. I don't drink that shit...

Things I CAN have... most any alcohol...
Oh wait... I can't drink anyway. FML.

Listy, listy, list... things I "CAN" have...

Herbal tea, Rooibos tea, WATER, Jello, Jello pudding (not chocolate), apples, apricots, avocado, bananas, blueberries, raspberries, cranberries, goji berries, strawberries, cherries, currants, dates, grapes/rasins, citrus fruit, lychee, mango, melons, nectarines/peaches, passionfruit, pears, pineapple, plums, cellophane rice noodles, tapioca shreds pasta, kelp noodles, asparagus*, green beans*, bok choy, broccoli*, brussel sprouts*, cabbages, carrots*, cauliflower, cucumbers, raw fennel, arugula, broccoli raab, collards/dino kale greens*, pea greens, jicama, kohlrabi, lettuce, mushrooms, yellow onions, sweet colored peppers /no green, ripe black plantains, pumpkin, hard winter squash, radish, rutabaga*, seaweed, alfalfa sprouts, summer squash, tomato paste in small portions for flavor, fresh tomatoes, turnip root, water chestnuts, watercress...
(Note- anything with an * needs special handling. It must be boiled and have the water drained away. Also, about half of this list, or so, is "Medium Oxalate" foods... so they don't get eaten a lot, and only in small portions. Yay.)

I don't want to get into herbs and spices right now... I can't have cinnamon!!! And Chili powder!!!
I mean, a light sprinkle of them is fine... but enough to make a good hearty CHILI and eat it... no.
I don't even know what to do with that.
Fine... here's a list of freaking spices I need to avoid... anything over the barest sprinkle is too much.
Allspice, anise, celery seed, cinnamon, clove, coriander seed, cumin seed, curry powder, fennel seed, ground ginger, lemon peel, tumeric, and raw anaheim peppers, caraway seeds, poppy seed, sesame seed.
Turdburglars!
