I'm currently writing my plan and all the starting strength rules on paper. It suggests that the first time I should squat only 100 lbs. Seems too light, but ok I'm following to program a 100% so I'm doing it.
However, I downloaded the warmup calculator for starting strength and it includes a 40 lbs warmup for a 100 lbs work set. This isn't even possible with a empty bar. Am I doing something wrong?
I'ma eat this beat like a beef eatin vegan
I could be wrong... but I noticed the same thing with the calculated warm up for my weights. I can only press about 65 pounds and the warm up was weird - it went 35, 30, 35, 40 or something. That went away once I got to "normal" weights. I haven't looked carefully at the Excel calculations but I can only assume it is some sort of calculation that gets a little messed up with lower weights. I'm sure you will be fine warming up with a 45 lb bar![]()
