Scientific consensus? It's all entirely unresolved methodological issues. It's based entirely on a questionaire(real reliable, right?) This is because it's not possible to disambiguate between the effects of second hand smoke and similar environmental factors such as air pollutions, so, yeah, forgive me if I'm not throwing my pack out immediately upon reading your junk articles.

These articles are all related to the disingenuous lies created from the EPA article that only estimated the CA EPA figure, not offering an independent estimate, and was forced to lower this number for obvious reasons.

If you will, read this, and many of the articles on this blog:

Velvet Glove, Iron Fist: A History of Anti-Smoking

Riiiiiight. The CDC and WHO are "junk" but a Phillip Morris sock puppet and a blog called Velvet Glove, Iron Fist are reliable sources. SMH.

I gave reasons why, there are of course citations and valid arguments included, but you can ignore those. Doesn't matter, neither of us will change our minds, so...

This guy looks reeeeeeaaaaly credible: (The velvet glove guy)

    About the author
Christopher Snowdon was born in North Yorkshire in 1976 and lives with his wife, daughter and cat in Sussex. He studied history at Lancaster University and is now a freelance journalist and author. He writes for the online magazine Spiked and on his own blog. His articles have appeared in the Wall Street Journal and The Guardian and he has appeared on numerous radio programmes, including the BBC's The Moral Maze.

He is the author of the internationally acclaimed Velvet Glove, Iron Fist and The Spirit Level Delusion. His latest book is The Art of Suppression: Pleasure, Panic and Prohibition since 1800 (published October 2011). He is vocal critic of the modern public health establishment which he believes has been corrupted by moral entrepreneurs and vested interests. His ambition is to die of a non-communicable disease.

Most of the citations were him quoting his own blog.

And? Doesn't make his points any less valid, unless you care to try and refute them. I posted here too, and you're not refuting my points either, just resorting to ad hominems.

It's OK, I respect your choice to believe what you want, alright? This subject will go nowhere like this, and thus, isn't worth our time(I have a hockey game on atm)

Enjoy your hockey, Derp. I just reserve the right to say, "I told you so", when you get lung cancer. Even James Dean was mortal.

Yeah, but he died from a car accident, so who knows.

You have that right, let's just see if it happens.

And, thanks, muh Ducks tied it up in the second <3

My goodness that DavidBrennen person is off the deep end of wingnuttery.

I really don't feel like directing anyone looking for serious diet/health related advice to this forum. It looks like a freak show with Mr. Perfidy stoned off his ass and babbling about things one has to be equally stoned to find profound. And then there is Fierce who thinks that Plato was re-incarnated as Sir Francis Bacon and that the novel "the New Atlantis" was an historical account. Then there is Dr. Anna who finds anti-Semites lurking in every corner. An now we have David trying to save young men from the evils of porn.

    It's a three ring circus.
