You'll encounter your share of jerks in the paleo movement, just like in any other subcultural group, but they're generally outnumbered by the smart, funny, awesome people. I find a certain subset of paleo dude particularly irritating, but on the blogs and on this forum, I have decided that ignoring them is better than engaging with them most of the time. There are lots of other great people to talk to instead.

Lots of jerks come up with good things. I haven't tried it yet, but the fat bread does sound pretty yum.

I'm thinking I'll make another loaf in the next couple of days to have it for my fast breaking meal on Friday.

So far the fasting is going well (sorry, no food porn pic this week).

I got hungry about noon today but I decided to sublimate my desire for food by going shopping instead. My summer wardrobe needed updating in my new smaller size. I had fun buying cute short skirts (In size six! Still getting used to that.) I got one adorable black leather mini skirt.

Made my dad a bowl of stew that he can reheat when he wants in his kitchen (Dad and I have two separate houses, just next door to each other.) So, I won't have to smell the cooking.

So far I have just had some iced decaf and some Crio Bru. Haven't felt the need for any bulletproofing. I've been nibbling a little garlic salt to get my sodium and keep my taste buds happy. There are a few calories per cup of Crio Bru but I would say I'm still under 50 for the day.

One thing about fasting. It makes going to bed earlier sound like a really good idea.

    G'night all.

There's a whole tumblr devoted to it, and I know his "schtick" is to be a firebrand and all, but it doesn't make me want to visit his site anymore. I get so weary of the chest-beating LOOK AT ME I'M AN ALPHA MALE antics. And pseudo-psychology on "how" men and women "should" act.

Guh. Buh. Okay. I feel better now.
Yup. Used to like reading his stuff, even bought his little e-book once. I've given up now though - don't visit his blog any more. Too off-pissing.

I saw myself in the window walking toward it yesterday. Man my pants are way to baggy. I look awful. I should buy new clothes but I'm afraid that will just jinx everything and I'll just feel fat all the time because I'll have smaller pants as a frame of reference.

I wore my favorite pair of hiking pants for the Burgess Shale trip--they are awesome, but they are a size 12 (although a small fitting 12) and I am now a 4-6. I belted them up thinking they would do fine, but in the photos my friends took they look ridiculous, especially from behind. That baggy ass thing is not a good look. I am sad because I love those pants, even though I'm also delighted to have a much smaller me. They need to go to a good home with a friend who will take them on new adventures.

I bought a whole new "wardrobe" of summer shorts yesterday because everyone was having their "end of summer" sales, although shorts are really wearable here most of the year. All my old shorts from last summer were falling off my butt. They were actually uncomfortable to hike in, kept creeping down in between my legs. All the baggy ones are getting donated to the Cancer Society thrift shop. Better to get them out of the closet. Then if the new ones ever get too small My alternatives are lose the weight again or spend more money replacing the big ones. Too cheap to do that.
