    It's just clouded thinking.

Like capitalism is the hydra and statism is just one of the heads of that hydra. So therefore we must destroy capitalism in order to end statism. So let's use statism to destroy capitalism and when we are living like a bunch of North Koreans we can ask our Dear Leader to please just now give up power. Then we will all be a bunch of good anarcho-socialists.

    Or something like that.

    This seems reasonable to me.

When people are hurt/sick and need help, what does anarchism say we should to? Is it 'stuff happens'?.

What do you think people did in this country before we had medicare and medicaid? Do you actually think sick people were just dying in the streets without being taken care of?

Were they in their natural anarchist state then?

    What did they do?

No. The hydra is everything wrong with civilization. The government is the dick. Stupidity is the head that will officially kill you when you cut off the hydra's dick. It will do so by inciting wars of control that will result in an enormous death toll.
    So your choices are:
    A) Keep letting the hydra stretch you out.
    B) Get killed.
    C) Hope that you beat the odds and the hydra misses. You are not Han Solo. The hydra head (for my purposes that's what it was) in the asteroid will eat you.
    D) Don't cut off the hydra's dick and run like hell. It will search for its sex toy because hydra teeth aren't very good for wanking.
    E) Become a hydra head. This is made difficult by the fact that it doesn't want to lose it's sex toy and so will keep you from visiting the wizard of oz and tapping your red breast implants together to shapeshift. Even those of us who come from a long line of hydralings have little to no chance of being a full fledged hydra. Hell, some of us are being raped now too!
In all of the universe there is only one person with your exact charateristics. Just like there is only one person with everybody else's characteristics. Effectively, your uniqueness makes you pretty average.

What does anarchism actually stand *for*. It seems like it's defined itself as being 'not that other thing'. Yes?

Being new, maybe I shouldn't get involved here. But you're argument is flawed. Anarchism doesn't presuppose an action to help the hurt/sick, but doesn't negate one either. The anarchist argument isn't that you shouldn't help one another, only that the state shouldn't make that decision for you.

They were mostly free of government intervention, yes.

The poor would go to churches or hospitals. There were doctors who would take care of the sick and the poor paid them back as well as they could. It's called having a sense of community and having love and respect for one another.

A doctor's visit before statist intervention was extremely affordable, insurance was even cheaper. With all the statist intervention we have today, the doctors and hospitals and insurance companies are robbing you all blind. It's legalized plunder. The insurance companies actually want to use the force of the state to force you to buy their products.

Could you imagine Monsanto using the government to force you to buy GMO corn because the FDA says it's healthier for you and we need to cut down on healthcare costs? If the government can force you to buy health insurance from corporation X, they can force you to buy GMO corn from corporation Y.

Please do, I'm like the lone anarchist here amongst a den of statists. I need all the back-up I can get.
