I have been wondering how much protein (pre or post workout) is actually utilized for protein synthesis and muscle building after a meal. If I, for example, eat two steaks throughout the day and another post-workout vs 3 steaks immediately post-work out, am I basically doing the same thing? How much protein can my body actually absorb and utilize at any time? Has anyone seen research on this?
I asked Lyle McDonald this question and according to him, it's limitless. You can eat as much protein as you want in a sitting.
