nope, it's hard
i keep mine near the stove so it's soft enough to scoop as needed
Literally! I am kind of a newbie here, and I just bought my first jar of coconut oil, expecting it to be soft like crisco...instead, I can barely get it out of the jar!
Is this right? If it is supposed to be this hard, do you have any tips on how to get it out of the jar?
I have carved out bits of it, and it is delicious (especially when I use it on chicken and pork). But I am wondering if I am doing it wrong?

beautiful
yeah you are
would youuuu like a discount?
I stick the jar in the microwave for 10 seconds to soften it up... Sans lid of course.
It's worse in the summer when it's liquid. For now, you can soak the jar in a container of hot water or use the microwave.

I'm jealous!
I live in the desert, and my coconut oil won't be hard again until Christmas!

In the winter/spring it's hard, in the summer/fall it's liquid. Perfectly normal.

I believe 75 degrees is the melting point. Pretty darn mushy once your room temperature hits 70.
Mine was hard at first also. I didnt have any trouble scooping out what I needed though. But it is getting pretty soft now though. We had June temps here yesterday.
