    How often do you fast?

    Primal Fuel
Just curious, with all of Mark's blogs about fasting lately, just made me wonder what others do. The longest I have ever gone pre primal was 14 days for spirtual reasons. Just recently I did a 7 day one for health benefits, but daily I IF, sometimes it is breakfast and sometimes it is dinner. I have about 40lbs of weightloss to go yet too.

I do IF almost daily. I take entire days off whenever, but usually do daily 18-hour fasts. IF is one of the things I like about the PB philosophy, but disagree with how and when it should be implemented. I do it for effortless weight loss, but I guess that's frowned upon in some circles and prescribed only for the already fit and trim. I say nerts to that. I do what I like.

I do Fast-5 but I don't really think of it as fasting. I get really tired (low energy) after I eat, so eating in the morning/early afternoon just makes my day more difficult. I think best, accomplish my goals best on an empty stomach. Always have~ even when I was a teenager. The most difficult years of my life was when I was trying to follow a SAD/ eat three times a day WOE.

Don't know if it's right for everybody, but it sure feels right to me.

I like doing activities in a fasted state, even crossfit, but I'm sure to use that, as a means of ending my fast, by eating a post-workout meal, within the right time frame.

I typically do 16-24 hr fasts, depending on mood.

I tend to IF Monday - Thurs. I eat a decent breakfast, a reasonable lunch, and then supper seems unnecessary. This seems to freak my husband out, so over the weekend I eat a smaller breakfast, a smaller lunch and a small supper, which puts the weight back on ...

I IF breakfast quite often - at least 4-5 days a week, sometimes more. I am typically just not hungry for breakfast, and eat lunch around 2pm. (Though I often eat breakfast foods for lunch, so I guess you could call it breakfast. LOL )

Can just skipping a meal be classed as fasting? I was on the understanding that breakfast to breakfast was a fast, not merely eating morning and not again til the evening, but have I got this all wrong?

I do hardcore fasts on training days because my hunger is voracious the day after lifting days, no matter how much I eat on the actual training days. 1-2x a week I do 23-24 hour fasts, and the remainder is more like 20 hour fasts, or 13-14 hour fasts if I eat lunch.
