    Smashed Deadlift PR!...Excited!

    Primal Blueprint Expert Certification
I did 350 last month, but wasnt expecting a 25lb jump at the stage I'm at. I have both my 360 and 375 attempts on here. Honestly, I may not have locked the 375 good enough for a powerlifting meet, but thats cause the hook grip was smashing my thumbs! I should probably be more careful with my neck positioning too.

Just have to say that you are well proportioned for the deadlift.

I don't get that back angle and femur angle until I've moved the weight at least 12 inches
I didn't like the rules you gave me, so I made some of my own.

Yea, I'm definitely built for the deadlift. Short torso and fairly long arms along with being short in general at 5'4. I got the big jump from doing snatch grip deadlifts with 35s for 4 weeks on Monday, and then doing speedwork from a deficit on Fridays. Seems to have worked. For the next 3 weeks I'll be doing singles at or above 90% with the snatch grip and maybe the sumo variation too while continuing the deficit speed pulls on Friday.

    Wow great! Looking good!
Hook grip hurts! Sucks you can't drop the weight at the top like we can do in CrossFit. Normal gyms suck for that stuff.
Looking forward to joining you with SS soon (are you still doing it?)

I'm kinda sort of still doing SS. Its getting brutal now with squats. My routine looks like this.

Monday: Back squat 5x3 - Bench/Press 5x3 - DL variation for multiple sets of heavy singles
    Wednesday: Front squats 3x3 - Bench/Press 5x3 - Power clean 3x5
Friday: Back squat 5x3 - Bench/Press 5x3 - Deficit speed deadlifts for singles.

I'm thinking about incorporating lower reps on squats Friday along with when I do bench. I still have a little more linear progression in me though I think.

Its looking like a good plan Are you doing any running/walking or anything as well?
I am just thinking of taking a break from CrossFit, and if I do, ill do a few runs and SS.
    I do love lifting heavy.

Yes, I take my dog for several walks a week and usually use the concept 2 rower 2-3x a week for slow movement. I count my hockey games as sprinting because I skate my effing ass off. More intense than a sprint session IMO.
