ROFL!
Gotcha.
It's better today, although not gone. I drank extra, and downed raw garlic cloves and Vitamin C several times a day. I must reek to high heaven. Good thing hubby isn't here, or I'd be sleeping on the couch.
I remembered you saying that a while back, so I started yesterday. Although the last clove was so honking big I had to split it in three to be able to swallow it. Which I am spreading out over three doses, because there is a limit to how much I am willing to smell to be healthy. LOL!
ROFL! Well, I did suggest rotteneggs... No throwing of eggs or anything else today; I've been good. It's been pretty easy, I just am not hungry. Food tastes wonderful, but I fill up fast. It took me till 4:30 to finish my breakfast.
I would have loved to spend the day resting, but I had an urgent errand to run, so run it I did. It's cold out there. Comforted myself with a big cup of hot tea when I got back. Cream and stevia this time, because I did indeed feel like being comforted.
Thank you everyone for the good wishes.![]()

For your enjoyment, I present the Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra. I learned to play ukulele as a child, so I have a soft spot for this. And these guys have so much fun playing! They pack out major venues, believe it or not.

Sorry, Tomi, I haven't touched one in years. The ukulele was my mother's anyway. It is a great little video, isn't it?
New low today. 142.8. It only took five days, sheesh. In my defense, I haven't been getting much exercise. Being sick kind of gets in the way of that. Anyway, I'm hoping I can knock off at least another by Monday.
I gave up on the garlic. I was a lot sicker yesterday, so it obviously wasn't doing me any good. I probably should have started two days earlier, when I first noticed a sore throat. I'm stupid that way.
My eating has been good, although I don't really remember it all. Yesterday was a Denver minus the bread, had a bit of bacon and a cappuccino (cream and stevia) between meals, and "spaghetti" with a ground beef sauce at supper. I had to force myself to cook it. I was exhausted and had no appetite, but the meat needed to be cooked. Lots of leftovers. I haven't eaten today yet, although I've had black coffee and blueberry tea. I'm making sure I get my liquids.
My best friend's mother died.Of her four siblings, two died young, one died a few years ago, and the other is severely ill. She's having a rough time.
We are cautiously optimistic about the job situation. No heads have rolled yet, although there was a severe scare. Cooler heads prevailed. We are hoping and praying that the not-so-cool head will consider his options and resign gracefully. That is pretty much the best-case scenario. Second best would be that one of the applications DH has sent out is received positively.

Just had an Everything Salad for lunch. Mark's BA Salads, while respectable, are still amateurs... LOL!
I estimated I ate about 6 cups of salad. So all you people who have felt bugged about my preaching veggies can know that I practise what I preach. It was great, and yes, I am stuffed. Mind you, I hadn't eaten in about 18 hours.
Mesclun mix, micro-greens, shredded nappa, one shredded carrot, two thick slices of tomato, 1/2 a yellow pepper, a handful of crumbled walnuts, a wee bit of cheddar, a couple of slices of crumbled bacon, some marinated eggplant... I think that's everything.
Back a bit, I bought some grapeseed oil, thinking it was one of the good ones. Apparently not. But neither is it an arch-villain. So I decided to use it to make mayo. It's serviceable, but it just doesn't get as thick as one would expect from blender mayo. Two more batches to use it up, and then it's back to light olive oil. Apparently not only my sugar tastes have changed, but my salt ones also. I now find my standard mayo recipe too salty.
The original plan was to make avocado mayo, but when I opened my ripe avocado, I found it had gone brown from the pit outward. Which meant I had to chuck the whole thing. I was not pleased.
Kathi, I grated my carrot injury-free this time. There is hope even for klutzes. And I mandolined my mushrooms last night without leaving any skin behind either. Woot!
I have found a couple of primal shortbread recipes that look decent. I can't wait to try them. I'm planning on baking 3 or 4 primal treats for Christmas, so I have something to nibble on at family gatherings. The trick will be holding off until the family gatherings...

That sounds like a brilliant idea. First time I've heard of it, mind you.
I thought I was feeling better last night, but the sore throat intensified so much overnight I was obliged to suck on a Sucret to be able to get back to sleep. This is not encouraging. I am staying home today and lounging while sipping on herb teas and various other non-sugary hot drinks. It's past noon, and I have not yet started eating. I'm considering fasting for the day, in an effort to beat the infection. Does anybody know if that's a myth, that fasting is a good thing to do when you're fighting infection?
I think I will now go snuggle under a blanket on the couch with another hot drink, and listen to some good music and/or knit and/or make phone calls... Have a good day, all.
Oh, after my huge lunch salad, I had a little Judg Fudg (with stevia, of course, seeing as I'm avoiding even good sugars for now) and small amounts of primal leftovers for supper. Fish stew and "spaghetti" if you are wondering. If I do eat today, it will probably be reruns of yesterday, in smaller amounts.
