Okay, I can't resist. It's been a horrible two days for us up here and for some reason when you said "one husband" was "landing," I burst out laughing wondering where the other husband was hiding out! Okay. Like I said, it's been sleepless, crazy rough, and my sense of humor has probably gone beyond all proper and sensible boundaries.

LOL @ Pam. One is enough.

Thanks Tomi. I'm clearing out of here now. Got preparations to make.

When two husbands land at the same time, we need to hear all the details!

I was not hosting any of the feasting, but I did provide a pumpkin pie with a walnut crust for Saturday's outing (MDA recipe, I would have preferred a tad sweeter and/or spicier). And for Monday I took a simple baked ham (no glaze or anything, but there wasn't much left afterwards) and a broccoli-tomato salad.

I did, alas, do some cheating. Turkey was consumed with gravy and cranberry sauce, potatoes made an appearance, and I did try a date square and a sliver of pumpkin cake. I am not particularly repentant. The turkey is non-negotiable. It absolutely must be consumed at Thanksgiving, without any guilt or regret whatsoever. Still and all, I kept my helpings pretty small, so I am only about a pound and a half off my lows, and have declared this particular round of holidays a success. I did acquire a nasty head cold somehow along the way though, so I'm not moving too fast today. Not eating too much either, although I am simmering an eggplant sauce with leftover roast beef to go over some spaghetti squash for my only real meal of the day. So far I've only had some broth and a bit of chocolate (90%) and some pumpkin seeds I toasted last week when roasting pumpkins and squash. It is really a relief not to have another feast on the way. My next challenge will be in a couple of weeks, when hubby will be guest teaching in Montreal, and I am going along for the week. Probably dinner invitations and restaurants all week. I foresee a lot of meal skipping to keep things under control.

Siobhan, two husbands at once sounds like an absolute nightmare. I'm still getting the hang of one...

Okay, I'm off to read journals.
