Great stuff Judg. The energy boots is the greatest thing about this lifestyle, I think. I've enjoyed the benefits, on (mostly) and off since I first went low carb on Sept 2005 but since going grain free realise how good it can get! Onwards and upwards!

Energy boots! Best typo. Where can I get some? And do they come in colors?

Thank you so much for the encouragement, Tomi and everybody else. Yes, my energy levels are improving and I'm quite pumped about it. Today though, I am tired. Which didn't stop me from walking to the bank and back, but I did it quite slowly and stopped for an iced cappuccino (yes, I cheated) to rest before taking the homeward trek. I could do it, but my body was clearly telling me it was time to slow down for a bit. So I will.

Sabine, I'm not really an extrovert. I'm what is known as a sociable introvert. Which means I love to be around people for a while, but I really need to get away from them to recharge my batteries. They're like Red Bull to me, they give me a jolt of energy yes, but I pay for it after.

I was even considering staying home yesterday after the grocery shopping in the morning, but DD phoned early afternoon. It was her 23rd birthday, and she will be celebrating on the weekend, both with friends and family, so she suggested we go to a museum together. (The public ones here are free every Thursday from 4:30 till closing.) So out we went. I was really kind of honoured that she chose her mother to spend her birthday and the first day of her week off with. I really shocked her though. At one point, (two actually) we were sprinting for the bus (a kind of big game chased down by urban Grokettes) and I kept up with her. I was going flat out, and she still had some speed in reserve, but she was gobsmacked. She couldn't remember ever seeing me run before. That's because I had been obese her entire life, and I didn't want to impose that kind of stress on my joints. My joints don't mind anymore, but the muscles down the front of my thighs, the name for which I have completely forgotten, are not quite so forgiving. They are grumbling at me in disapproval. I am so out of shape. Only my walking muscles are toned, everything else is mush.

Still and all, I am thrilled that it took about 10 days of almost daily outings or exertions to get me to the point where I was walking slowly. That's mind-boggling. DD could really see the difference, even though I was already dragging a bit. She is used to seeing my dragging much more than that. I've been tired all her life, and exhausted for the last half of it.

Slow day here today. My eating was all over the place and not the greatest (short on veggies for sure) but oh well. Tomorrow is a new day.

Oh yes, I'm tired. All that overdoing has caught up to me. I have to make two cakes today though, one vegan and one primal. Tomorrow is a family celebration of my daughter's birthday, Mother's Day, and my niece's birthday, and seeing as we (as in me and my offspring) are the ones complicating things with our weird diets, I am the one providing the weird food. But that's really all I am going to attempt today, other than the necessary kitchen clean-up and throwing a load of towels in the washer and dryer. They can wait to be folded, but at least they'll be usable.

Judg - 10 days of go go go and you're just now feeling pooped out! Thats pretty darn good! How exciting!

I've had a few little cheats this past week also. Ice cream, and this morning a frapaccino. Yummy - but not so healthy. Somedays we just have to relax a bit. As long as someday doesn't turn into most days I think we're doing pretty good.

Sounds like you'll have a wonderful day of friends and family tomorrow! We'll be spending the day at the MIL's house with family as well. We'll see my mom also - but dinner will be at MIL's. A full on curry feast.

    Happy Mothers Day!

You too, Tomi. Yes, I'm pretty pleased it took so much to get me this tired. And quite bummed that I am this tired. But there isn't much over the last ten days I would have been willing or able to cut out, so that's life. Next week I will try to give myself all the time I need to get my mojo back.

Curry, yum! You have a happy Mother's Day too.
