I have a crappy version of bacon lying in my freezer, it's smoked, has nitrates and sugar in it; all the good stuff.

    But I want it.

    And it wants me.

Should I make the first move? Or should I find another object of desire?

Sorry for the lame analogies. It's late.

Eat it. I haven't seen any compelling evidence against nitrites. And the sugar is an inconsequential dosage.

I can't believe I actually read this stuff! Oh the things I will do for bacon...

Okay, so breakfast with bacon with extra serving of nitrates coming right up!

    Though it's sugar I fear

Now the question is... raw or cooked?

Ice, you're single? The world is unfair when pretty young Canadian girls are left unattended! (yes, I'm hitting on you! It's 4AM here!)

No pretty Canadian girl should be left unattended! :P

The amount of sugar in bacon is really really minimal. Did I mention minimal? Most of the store-bought stuff has sugar in it but if you take a look at the nutritional info, per serving there's typically 0g. Maybe unless it's the maple sugar stuff.

In fact, I just had 6 glorious pieces.

    I grok, therefore I am.

Okay, what's the deal with bacon? Maybe i'm doing something wrong, but everytime buy some to try and work out what the fuss is about it just tastes salty and greasy. It isn't gross, but just a bit... bler. Cooking tips anyone?

Store bought bacon is horrid. That's my thought.
