LOL! I looked up Mark's book at our library, and the waiting list was so incredibly long I just went out and bought it.

I've also been amazed at how much easier it is to resist temptation. I don't feel like I'm missing something good, but choosing something better.

I found myself in the weird position of not being at all hungry despite having eaten only 900 calories today. I really felt I should eat something, so I had 1 tbsp of almond butter with 1 tsp of coconut oil mixed in. Delicious even without the honey and not really like eating food, which seems vaguely disgusting to me right now. I've had plenty of protein today, hardly any carbs. I'm a little bit tired, not usual for me at this time of night, but I have been very active today. I think some calming type yoga and then to bed - see you in the morning -

Slept nine hours! Not hungry! Wow, what a weird direction my life has taken.

Yesterday I was actually strict paleo - no dairy, no sugar. I think I will be dairy-free today as the milk spoiled and I have coconut milk to put in my tea. Off to work tonight. How am I going to sleep this afternoon after my Rip van Winkle session? Oh well, no worries.

Slim cat is on top of my tallest bookcase. How did he get way up there?

Yoga and walking this AM - have a great day, all!

    Thank you!

I must be getting my libido back...thought it was gone forever...maybe it's the meat? I just noticed the guy in the yoga video is drop-dead gorgeous. How did I not notice that before? Now that I have noticed, I have to try to un-notice - it's very distracting.

This is getting to be my go-to breakfast - fried egg, hot dog (my grass-fed ones), 1/2 an avocado. I have learned that I really, really like eggs fried so the white is brown and crispy. Funny I never knew that before. I think I was terrified of fried food - like I was going to drop dead five minutes after eating anything fried. I didn't realize it was the fried carbs I needed to be afraid of!

What do you do with the other 1/2 avocado? Doesn't it go brown?

I know what you mean about not being hungry. I ate like nuts yesterday, and barely got past my BMR calories. (I think that's basal metabolic requirements). I figured the scales would be way up this morning, but no. You're right, this is weird. How can I possibly be eating steak and stuffing myself and not be gaining weight?

Siobhan, I've been thoroughly enjoying your blog. I feel like I'm reading a Stephen King novel - sans the scary parts.
You have a really captivating writing style.
I'm new to this site, but I have been eating and living my life in a very similar to the PB lifestyle way for quite some time.
Just thought I'd kind of introduce myself, so I'd feel less like a stalker. LoL!

Hi Cleo, thank you very much! You made my day! I even live in Stephen King territory. Actually his home is in Bangor, 2 1/2 or 3 hours from here. I often feel like I'm in a Stephen King novel myself, luckily not the really scary bits. Like the time last winter, on the very coldest night, all of a sudden I heard unbelievably loud noises on my roof. It sounded like someone was throwing bodies onto it. Like, if there was a spaceship 50 feet above my house and the spacemen were throwing the humans onto my roof. Yeah, like that! This house has a flat roof, so it was very, very close and very, very loud. Now I know houses settle, but this was so far beyond anything like that. Even the cats were spooked. The three of us got into bed, I pulled the covers over our heads and that is where we stayed! The next day I called a friend, and she matter-of-factly told me that noise was the beams freezing and popping. Scary, loud, but completely harmless.

And good luck with the primal lifestyle; I hope I am motivating other people as well as myself.

Lime juice, Judg, lime juice does the trick. Also makes it taste even better. I don't add any salt.

Just got up. Feel a bit like Rip van Winkle once again. Have slept a very large number of hours since last night! Off I go to work!

Wow, noises like those in the middle of the night would have scared the day lights out of me too.
I'm a converted Southerner myself and haven't yet visited New England, but from what I've seen and heard is truly beautiful, even more so in the fall.
