Get the sriracha - or dig that bottle of hot sauce out of the back of your fridge. IMHO it is a flavor enhancer when used judiciously, especially before cooking. Adds that little 'oomph' that makes people think you know magic cooking tricks. Maybe you do......

Am cooking up a big ribeye (on sale) as an early dinner/late lunch. We are leaving here at 5:30 PM for a 7 PM lecture, won't be home til 10 or so. I will probably slip a piece of my quiche into my handbag for a snack. Don't want to be tempted by anything, although I have a feeling there won't actually be any food to be found. Tomorrow there is a lunch, no idea what they are serving. I will be bringing backup food just in case.

Why do the Friday success stories always make me feel bad? And why do I continue to read them? Why is reading about other people's success not only inspiring to me, but somewhat debilitating? I'm not a better anything since going primal. I'm a selfish hedonist who goes from one great meal to pleasurable activity to the next without bettering anyone or anything. I'm not a better worker, a better person, a better daughter, better you-name-it. Okay, maybe I'm a better cat mom. I feed them better food than I used to. Other than that, zilch.

Hey, you inspire me... It's very nice to read about someone who is deeply enjoying this whole process.

Thank you, Judg! You are very, very kind. I often think I go too far here in revealing stuff!

Just got back from the conference. The lecturer was Marcus Borg, a noted theologian. He is a terrific speaker and now I have loads of things to mull over. Yes, now I will solve all the problems in the world.

Stayed primal - took my squash-egg concoction, bacon, and an apple. Apples are carb-y but their portability can't be beat, and they are totally socially acceptable. I also love them, and I had no problem leaving the rather unappetizing-looking cookies and very bread-y sandwiches. I had some lettuce with salami from the salad fixings, no dressing as it was all bottled crap. But that's okay. They had Earl Grey tea and some very acceptable coffee.

No jazz program tonight. Oh well, the host has not had a Saturday night off for eight years, so I suppose I will survive.

    Socially unacceptable fruits:
    Peach- too juicy and sensual.
Watermelon-what kind of a glutton are you-even with the minis?
Kiwi-fruit should not be undressed in public, not require a tool.
Pomegranate-whom are you trying to impress?
