    Fitday or Paleotrack?

    Ive been using Paleotrack for checking my calorie, fat, protein, etc on a daily basis for months now and it often comes out with far more calories than I think Ive eaten.
    Just out of interest, I added the same things to Fitday and I had consumed approx. 500 calories less!

    So which is the most accurate of the two? Its not just calories, even carbs are shown in one and none in the other. Bit lost now!
    Any suggestions?

    I ran both of them in parallel for while and did not find large discrepancies. However, it is very important that you use, more or less, the same entries in the food database.
    To help this I tend to copy what I used in one and use it as a search string in the other.

    However, I stopped using both.
    Fitday in its new version is way to slow and basically not useable anymore.
    Paleotrack offers very little analytical convenience.

    I now moved to myfitnesspal.com.
    This however, is also not the greatest as it does not track the individual nutrients, like Omega 3 for example.
    But since I am using it primarily for tracking calories and carbs, it works just fine.
    And its fast, has plenty of graphs and an app you can use as well.

    i try to stay away from tracking my food, i find i become super compulsive about it. however, from time to time i do use myfitnesspal just to check in and see what my numbers look like. you can manipulate the percentages of fat, protein and carbs to your specific needs which i like. good luck.

    I would guess that you screwed up and selected the wrong quantity of a particular food in one of the programs.
    For example, you may have selected one cup of almonds on one site, and one ounce of almonds on another.

    Just speculating though.

    I've been using Paleotrack the past two weeks and I find it very helpful (and accurate as long as you get the qty selection and type of food right). I'm new to primal way of eating and was curious about the nutritional breakdown of these new and "foreign" foods. (Bacon, rarely ate. Eggs? Dozen lasted a month in the fridge. Vegetables? Eh, spoiled before I got to use them. Meat? Usually replaced with something soy.....you get the picture. )

    I'm enjoying it as an educational tool.

    FATSECRET.COM is a great tracker...very user friendly, accuracy is consistent.

    I use CRONOmeter, I find it to be the best and the only source that tracks omega-3/omega-6

    Can you do this on the app?
    Starting weight: 90kg (11/3/13) (33.1 BMI)
    Current weight: 89.5kg (12/3/13) (32.9 BMI)
    Goal weight: 75kg (27.5 BMI)
    Short term goal: BMI under 30
    Mid term goal:
    40 pushups, 100 situps, 10 pullups, 10.1 beep test, >10m 2.4km run
    Long term goal: Enlist as an ARA Combat Engineer
