"Salad recipies" please! (No, not w/lettuce)

    Shop Now
I need some perky salads! Like seafood, shrimp, egg, chicken, etc.

Have one you are willing to share?

The only thing I can't do is cream/milk. Can do sour cream & cheese & yoghurt.

    THANKS!

    Here is one of mine:
    Bright Chicken Salad
Canned chicken or otherwise chicken, cut into bite size pieces
    Green onions/scallions, sliced thin
Applejuice sweetened dried cranberries (if you can find 'em, sugared if not)
Diced apple (I like pink lady but works well with any slightly tart apple, do not use red delicious)
    Celery, diced
    Pecans - diced
Dressing: Not too much, mix into the salad ingredients to desired taste.
    Sour cream
    splash of lemon juice
    salt & pepper
    Onion powder if you desire

This tastes even better on day two if you ask me. I like it when the onion permeates into the dressing.

I made this for the salad I was assigned to bring for Easter dinner. It's like ceviche minus the raw fish. It was a hit!

I did up a nice beet salad this week!

I grated 3 beets (this made a large bowl to share for a potluck! and I used 2 golden and one red just for fun colors), fried up about ten slices of bacon and chopped them into bite size bits. That was the main salad. I made a dressing out of red wine vinegar and olive oil with some salt, ginger powder and rubbed sage. I served it in a bowl with some beet greens to make it look nice and I DID eat the greens but you could do without them too.

Where does mayo stand in this diet? Cause all my salads have mayo in them.

You make it homemade and its okay. Make with olive oil, lard, other primal oils & egg & usual ingredients. I am okay with mayo in salad recipies!

Search for a recipie in the forum or Mark has posted a list of recipies for common condiments like ketchup & whatnot.

Thanks. I'll look for it. I plan on doing a lot of reading about this while I clean out my kitchen over the next couple weeks. This is basically what I was going to do anyway, now I just found a name for it!

The salads I currently make are either canned tuna or chicken with mayo and relish is all. They're awesome with chips.... or lettuce... I'm really going to have to research new foods and new ways to eat them!

Here's one (that my kids sing 'Meat Salad, yummy yummy, Meat Salad, yummy yummy' to, ala the wiggles)

    Cooked Corned Beef
    8 tomatoes, chopped into 1/8ths
Chopped up Parsley and Spring Onions to garnish

Shred the corned beek (cut it up or split it with forks), then put in a bowl and cover with everything else.

It makes an awesome breakfast (just slowcook the Corned Beef overnight).
