I just saw butternut squash in my local butcher/grocer today and thought, now why does that seem familiar?

Grow your own! That's what I'm doing after never finding them online or in stores.

They are huge plants though, ours it well over 8 feet tall!

When it's in season, I'm sure waitrose stock it , also most green grocers should sell it , if you request it I'm sure they will have it.
If your in london, try panzers in St. John's wood or if Notting hill / holland park, there's micchouir bros (can't spell) http://www.allinlondon.co.uk/directory/1161/20962.php

I'll defo buy one if I see one and let you all know. I'm happy to eat any squashes roasted in beef dripping or I use cauliflower wherever I would have used pasta previously.
