    I'm an optometrist and I've seen people blind themselves by staring at the sun. Don't do it!!!
    Your central vision area called the macula is the point where light is focused. Sort of like using a magnifying glass on a piece of paper...it'll burn. If you want to see pics Google "Solar Retinopathy" and check out the cool images.

    I knew someone who was permanently colorblind because as a child he stared directly at the sun and destroyed some of the cells of his retina. Please be very careful if you experiment with this.

    I remember when this first came out ages ago, they openly stated that the guy doesn't eat, just drinks some milk and fruit juice... So he does not subsist on just sunlight like implied.

    What a total crock.

    The sun is great for your eyes, even looking at it for short periods of time has improved my vision. But living off of it... I call bullshit.
