Hello,
I am a recent converter to a mostly PB diet and I need some help. Currently I am in college and am living with a bunch of Naval ROTC people, with me being the only civilian. Although, I have slowly converted one of my house-mates, I am having trouble convincing others that the primal diet is an actual lifecycle change, not just a fad diet, but I am failing to convert the masses or prove that this diet is the real deal. The first thing they see is "marksdailyapple.com" and think the whole thing is illegitimate because its a blog as opposed to a fact-based government site. The main opposer is a guy who wants to join the SEALS one day, (I showed him the article on that one SEAL who is doing this and he wasn't impressed by "one guy"), who thinks that complex carbs are the only way to go and should make up around 50% of your diet. Please if you have any suggestions for arguments against this I really need them.
Thanks,
Sam G.

I agree to show him to Crossfit and go from there. My hubs is an IT (communications) and has spent the last six years attached to Special Warfare commands (the last three with seal teams). They're very big on crossfit for sure, and a lot of crossfitters tend to be primal, so it may just lead there.
If nothing else by reading and being around crossfit they might see that primal is pretty commonly followed and see it's not a "fad" diet...

I don't speak of the paleolithic diet or PB as a diet but just as the way that I eat. I was eating similarly before I ever came across this site or heard of the paleolithic diet though so I'm in the habit of it.

Why do you need to convinence people?
Agree with New Renaissance.
For one, I wouldn't try to convince them. I'm not sure exactly how you are going about it, but if you are preaching, stop. You're just going to piss people off, which makes it seem like a fad diet (it's how most fad diets spread anyway).
If you want to "convert" them (poor choice of words) do what has already been suggested. Show them crossfit, let them get more than one voice about Primal lifestyle. The best way to make changes in the military is like what NR said: let it be their idea and they will like it. Military personnel and the military in general is very resistant to change in diet and exercise, although it is getting better as far as exercise is concerned (10 mile runs and lots of push-ups don't make strong soldiers). Diet I think will be crappy for a long time to come.

I know what it's like to want what's best for everyone. This makes sense for you and you'd wish they'd see the light too...but I think the best thing you can do is do what you're doing. If they see your energy and body and life...if it's what they want, they'll start asking questions.
I agree with arthurb999. Let them make their own decisions.

I just wouldn't waste my time with someone who thinks that way.
