Hi Tomi. I have a friend who fosters too. She is currently fostering a little girl who had to have a liver transplant. The child requires specialized care (she has a central line pumping meds right into her heart!) She's 18 months now, I think, and has gotten tired of tubes. She nearly yanked out her CV line once (which could mean certain death b/c she'd bleed internally straight from her heart). This gal has been through a LOT with this little girl and have fallen madly, deeply in love with her. There is a change that after she's done with all of her medical care and they're certain her body will keep the liver, my friend may have to give the girl up to her biological mom. They want to adopt her as well. I can't imagine the strength foster parents have to possess in order to fall in love with these kids and then give them back. I don't think I could do it. Especially not from 3 days old!! Kudos to your niece.

Happy anniversary - belated - to you! Brad and I celebrated our 7th yesterday. (Happy anniversary to you, too, KimT!)

Looks like you're doing well, Tomi. I am having trouble getting consistent with my workouts. I need need NEED to start moving more. I think that will make the difference between where I sit now and where I want to sit later. I think if I started moving again, I'd start losing weight again. Been at a stand-still for entirely too long.

Thanks for the anniversary wishes Jenn, back at ya!

Good luck with the Vegas trip Tomi! Hope things go well. Flying can be such a pain! My dad was just detained when they found traces of explosives on him. Basically strip searched, wouldn't let anyone (mom, 2 nephews, and niece with him) touch him, delayed for about 45 minutes, only to decide the shorts he had on (same ones from the day before) probably picked up traces of something when we toured the Midway (naval aircraft carrier docked in San Diego). It was the firt time (ok second, since they flew out, but I was with them) he'd flown in 40-some years! Not sure he'll fly again anytime soon.

Anyway, good luck with the goal for tomorrow! I'm still following your progress!

Go ahead and buy the lacy things now. Trust me, it's worth it. I started when I was still at my maximum weight and the response was very enthusiastic.

I said a while back that lacy underwear was the best Valentine's gift that a man could get. Hubby not only agreed, he let it be known that February is a long way away... And that's one thing he never asks about the price for! LOL! Hmmm, maybe I should oblige him.

yes - leaning towards getting a "little" something special for this trip. Its been so long since I've bought anything pretty I don't even know where to shop! I already decided when I get to goal weight - the cotton panties are all going in the trash! Time for some lacy stuff

Didn't walk today. After the late night of not being able to sleep I slept in really late! basically just got out of bed and got ready for work - good thing I had showered last night. So, I was going to walk while the car was in the shop getting the tires rotated - but it only took them 20 minutes. Plus, I didn't want to be carrying my purse. So, I think I'll head out now for a nice walk before everyone gets home.

One more work day and then time to start packing for our little vacation! Yeah! My boss told me to be sure to go to the Perisols Down place at the Wynn. Its only 3/4 of a mile away from the Mirage where we'll be seeing the Beatles - LOVE show so we'll go down there Saturday after the show. I'm so looking forward to this trip!

Staying on track food-wise. breakfast: bacon, afterwork snack: almond butter --- weight was 182.6 today. Not likely to see 180 in the morning --- but I might be close. Depends on how much water I can pee out!!!!! Okay --- off to walk........

I think they should give us the ability to delete unwanted posts from our journals....... stupid spammers are out in droves the past couple days!

So I did it! 45 minute walk --- 2.75 miles. I think next summer I'm going to start doing 5K walks for charity. I guess thats like 3.2 miles or something close to that. I can handle that! Need to get my husband on board with me! FUN!

dinner tonight will be stir-fry. Chicken breast meat with cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, zucchini and spinach. mmmmmm! I have rice for hubby - I'll eat mine plain.

dumb dog........... he's barking at his food again cuz I didn't put 'gravy' on it! I keep the drippings from roasting meat and add it to his dog food - but I ran out. So now he's standing at his bowl barking at it! What a funny mutt!

I've given your spammer the black triangle of death twice. Good for you - walking! Las Vegas would be a great place to shop for the new lingerie.

well............. didn't make goal. Not surprising. For some reason I'm terribly bloated today. So I'm sucking down a hot cup of lemon water. TART! But I sorta like it. I read its a great diuretic. We'll see.................

I'm actually 3 pounds UP from yesterday. Depressing to say the least. Considering how careful I've been - and how much walking I've been doing - there must be something screwy happening. I bet it was the seasoning hubby added to the stir fry last night. I asked him to go easy on it cuz its so loaded with salt.......... he just looked at me with that "but it needs seasoning" look in his eye. GRRRR ................ now I'm rolling around like a water balloon about to burst! Granted - the stir fry tasted absolutely wonderful! but really.............. THREE POUNDS!!! Lets hope this lemon water trick works.

I have to run some errands and pack for Vegas today. We never seem to have the right sized bags.......... either too big or too small! I can take one larger duffle and put all of our stuff in there - but I'm thinking it will be too large to carry-on. I guess I'll have to go with 2 smaller ones.

I also need to take a cable for the computer - the rooms don't have wireless internet -- Not sure what kind of a cable I will need. The old kind with the thing that looks like a big phone jack plug in - or just a double ended USB cable. I wonder if the hotel has loaners? I think I'll just take the ethernet cable from the PC. Phone chargers........ camera??? yes.

shopping.............. something sexy.......... a bigger purse............ pick up Rx's.............. sunglasses!!! Laundry is almost done.

Finished the cup of lemon water - diarrhea - yes ------ peeing - no! No bacon for breakfast - too much sodium. 3 eggs with garam masala for seasoning.

wondering what I'll eat while in Vegas........... there is a reception Thursday night - I'm assuming they will have food there. Then continental breakfast and lunch is served on Friday. Hope theres more than coffee and pastries or I'm trouble. Would be nice if it was a buffet style breakfast.

wow.............. my gutt is not liking this lemon water! must be the acids......... riping through my innerds! I just took some anti-diarrhea pills to stop things..........

Not walking this morning - obviously. Will try to get in my walk after work and shopping. ugh.......... feel aweful.

    scattered thoughts............

I know it's something about the acid in Vitamin C (powdered form) that makes it work as a laxative, so that must be why lemon water works. Sorry it's been too effective haha! That sounds crummy

Well - I certainly won't try lemon water again cuz my belly ached for hours! Good thing I had a very short work day today. Stopped an bought some semi-sexy undies, a bigger purse, so I can cram all the things in there - sunglasses, camera, hubbies wallet.... I like the new one - will probably just keep using it. AND it was 1/2 price - SCORE! Purses are rediculously expensive - so finding it on sale was a nice treat! I don't buy a lot of purses - I can make one purse last 5 years!!!

Not going to walk to day......... too much to do and I still don't feel all that great.

was famished when I got home so I quickly fried up some salmon that I had thawed a couple days ago. Its yummy, but I didn't put any seasoning on it cuz I didn't want to add more salt to my already bloated self.

Need to clean the pond filter.......... and finish packing! I doubt I will be online much until Monday - so I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Maybe I will come back a wealthy woman from the dollar slots! My boss gave me a dollar to play for him - and a dollar for me! I marked his dollar with a highlighter so I will know its his!
