    Thanks - felt better the next morning when the wheat cleared out of my gutt. We had a great time at the OSU vs. WS game! Beavers won! Had to walk about a mile from where we parked to the stadium - so a good 2 mile walk day! What an experience watching the game from a suite ---- free food, free beverages......... of ALL kinds. I was good. I snitched a couple potato chips but otherwise, had only meat and veggies. I passed on the cookies, candy and chili w/beans. There was rum and coke and lots of other hards stuff....... I drank water. Had a large sweet potato later in the evening - but did put a tiny bit of brown sugar on it.

    Today (sunday) we gathered several family members and went on a great hike up to Shellburg Falls. Its not a long hike - about 2.8 miles round trip - but a good steady climb all the way up! What a fun day! I did great until I ate a few m&ms. Otherwise - great exercise day - great food day.

    GREAT WEEKEND! now I'm working on those valances again........ getting to the end of the pile! I can't wait to have them done and back in the 5th wheel. Now I still have to find a nice 6" wallpaper border.

    No time to visit everyone's journals - but I promise to catch up in the morning

    Tuesday morning. I had dark chocolate over the weekend and I'm still feeling the results. I've had 2 days of bathroom issues. I need to stay clear of the dark chocolate for sure! I'm hoping its over now for today......... sure hurts!

    I'm doing good food-wise. Even over the weekend I wasn't too terribly bad. I had some m&m's - that was the worst. Yesterday was bacon, almond butter, a BAS with bbq'd tuna loin - YUMMY! Weight was 183 today. Hoping for 182 tomorrow since thats my next goal for my weight chart. If I lose 2 pounds per week I will make my goal weight by the end of March! It will be a thin and healthy summer for me! and since I now have the tools to get thin and stay thin -- I should be fine for the duration! Looking forward to getting back into my cute capris and smaller summer tops!

    I didn't walk yesterday since I walked/hiked a total of 6.8 miles over the weekend. I'd like to walk today...... its 10:30 now and I need to get in the shower at noon for work this afternoon. That means I need to get moving soon. I need to make sure the stomach issues are over before I set out. I still feel some cramping so I don't think its over. I can always walk when I get home from work -- I'm considering calling the office to see if there is anything that I need to do today - it might not even be worth going to the office today. I hate going in to find that I have nothing to do !!!! GRRRR....... Technically I'm supposed to be compensated with 2 hours of pay regardless.......... but I don't push that since I work for a friend. I could just hang around for 2 hours and then leave. No one ever checks on me or pays any attention to what I'm doing. I wish the manager would hand over more things for me to do. I would love to do the supply ordering. Oh well, its a job, and its easy - I shouldn't complain.

    I'm going to make some bacon............ yummy.

    Hi Tomi. Your weekend sounds WAY more disciplined than mine. I felt the effects all day Sunday! Only up to 185 today, though, which is only 1 lb up. I'm eagerly awaiting 182 as that's my first "medium term" goal. It's pretty much my half way point (well, 39 lbs) but more importantly, it's the weight I was when I learned I was pregnant... and I was very newly pregnant too (only 13 days into the pregnancy when I got the positive test b/c I'm anal and charted everything when we were trying to conceive) so the weight gain hadn't started yet. 2 lbs yo! Why can't I stay the course to get there! UGH!

    Anyhow, I'm glad you enjoyed your weekend. It sounds like a lot of fun.

    Hi Tomi. I'm finally back now too.

    Have you thought of making up a batch of "primal" cookies to have on hand, so you have something to reach for when everybody else is munching? They're still not something I would recommend scarfing down, but no flour means no pain.

    Jenn ---- I think my motivation is wanting the health bennies and weight loss more than going way off course. I'm very determined to see this through, for the weight loss in the short term - and for the health benefits, and quality of life in the long term. You have to find your resolve and dig your heals in!!!! The cookies I ate on Thursday caused me much discomfort on Thursday night and part of friday --- and the dark chocolate I ate on Sunday gave me stomach problems on Monday and this morning. Thats motivation enough to avoid both in the future. :P You'll get there --- look how far you've come already! Remember the determination you had while doing the whole30??? Just muster that up again and don't let go of it! Something that helps me is the charting -- and I know you like that too. I have a 21 day challenge chart with all my daily goals across the top and the date down the side. Every day I have to go through that chart and fill in the block for the things I succeeded at that day......... I'm just anal enough to get really upset if my chart isn't PERFECTLY filled in!!!!! I'm still agonizing over the empty blocks where I drank rum and diet coke last week!!! Thats my little tool to keep on the right track. When I've completely the goal for the day I fill in that block with HOT PINK! I want a chart with almost ALL hot pink --- and very little white.

    Judg --- I have thought of that. Its a very good idea - and I will work on finding a recipe. Calorie wise I need to JUST SAY NO! I really didn't have much pain from the cookie snitching but I was extremely bloated!!!! I felt like I had a water balloon in my belly! UGH - I had a hard time sleeping.

    Today has gone well - once the belly ache and diarrhea finally ended -- just before I had to leave for work at 12:30. Stupid dark chocolate! NO more of that stuff for me.

    Work was slow and quiet - which is good and bad...... makes the time drag, but I leave feeling calm and relaxed rather than stressed and anxious to get out of there! My work space is in the quietest part of the clinic so I'm very fortunate! The office is actually on old converted fire station. I work upstairs in what used to be the bunk area. The only reason for anyone to come up there is to use the break room or the restroom. Or to talk to the manager who is in my old office (when I was a Research Coodinator/Office Administrator full time, years ago!) Anyway - its off the beaten path and very nicely secluded. Me like!

    Food today........... only 4 strips of bacon so far. I have rib steaks thawing for dinner. I've already seasoned them with garlic and a sweet mesquite rub. YUM. Acorn squash for a side, and maybe I'll make some steamed veggies too. Don't want to over do my carbs though. I'll see what hubby wants. Personally I could do with just the steak. I haven't had enough fat today though === I'm out of almond butter - and my son ate all my almonds! GRRRR! Not sure what to do about it. I have some organic peanut butter - but thats not exactly primal. Opinions? I'll put tons of butter on my squash and veggies. I'm gonna struggle with not putting brown sugar on my squash............. I LOVE it that way! But, I'll do cinnamon instead.

    I walked for 45 minutes after work, and shopping so I can say I walked a full hour. Yeah! I was going to mow the grass too - but just didn't have the steam to keep going. Tonight I will finish covering the last 3 chairs for the 5th wheel --- just set and back covers for the dining room set. Its not hard - but I'm on my feet and leaning over a table while stapling the fabric in place.

    I'll need to go back to the fabric store for the rest of the fabric for the valances in the bedroom space. What I bought covered everything in the living space. So I will most likely find something else for the bedroom space. I should only need a couple yards so I could get pretty much whatever I want within reason price-wise. Maybe one of the 60" wide prints that come on the rolls! Last time I was there they were all 50% off....... if they aren't this time then I will find something else to work. I also need to find a wallpaper border --- need to measure for that....... the 5th wheel is 35 feet long so I'm guessing I will need somewhere around 1.5 times that much. Lets see........ 36 feet is 12 yards --- so 18 yards should do it. I wonder how much comes in a standard roll??? I think 5 yards. so 4 rolls. I think I'll go online and do some looking.

    I'm getting anxious to have that project done! Well be in winter camping mode come November! Yeah! Beach - here we come!

    PS......... forgot to add: tomorrow is my weigh and record day.......... so send me SKINNY thoughts PLEASE! thank you!

    So... what is the official number??? I love the idea of redecorating the camper. I miss having a camper. We bought a 1970's motorhome from Brad's grandparents back in like 2004 to help them out financially. We paid them $2,000 for it. We kept it for a year or two and then sold it for $1,000. I didn't run very well, so we parked it in a permanent parking spot at a private campground along the river. We only pulled our camper out when the yearly campsite rental got to be too much for us. I miss having a camper. Maybe in a few years when the kids are older we can get one and find a campground with reasonable yearly rates. If we can't, there won't be any sense in us getting a camper. But, my grandma has some land that borders the same river, and she's reasonable (read: incredibly cheap) but her campsites are a ways off the river. We used to camp there as kids when Mom had a cabin down there. It was a weekend getaway. I loved it and that's what Brad and I used to do when we had our camper... a little hard to do with young kids. Maybe when Makenna is Brady's age. ??

    Anyhow, sorry for the ramble... just reminiscing.

    Jenn -- love to hear of happy childhood memories! I don't have many of my own - so I very much enjoy hearing others!

    Okay........... 182.2 HAPPY DANCE! I'm very pleased. Next goal 180 and then I'm finally going to see a number in the 170's for a while! I'm so psyched! It feels so good have finally found the right combination of things to start losing weight for real! Here's my take on whats working:
    1. No alcohol - no sugars - no grains
    2. walking 3-5 hours a week
    3. keeping calories around 1200 with high fat, moderate protein and VLC.
    4. getting my Thyroid function up to slightly over compensated levels.

    Yesterday I went to shopping for tops....... ended up buying two pairs of Levi's 529's in a size 12 - since I'm on my way to being too skinny for my size 14's - plus they were on sale! I think almost 1/2 price. Now I have 3 pairs of size 12 529's, and a pair of Silvers size 10-12 -- they are a tiny bit smaller. The tag says 29 which translates to a US size 12, but they are maybe an inch smaller in the waist that my levi's. I wore them comfortably when I was at 165 a couple years ago. I'm very anxious to be able to wear them again - they are hanging on my closet door so I see them several times a day! A good reminder what my goals will get me!

    I think I found a wallpaper border for the 5th wheel - I have it saved in my favorites so I can think about it for a couple days before I order it. Its you're basic traditional swirly type print, but the colors are right and I think it will look nice. I only did one more chair last night - so still have 2 to go. Hubby has already taken one apart so I can finish it and will probably just take the other apart and finish it after work. I think he likes helping me - but I'm totally capable of taking out a few screws to release the seat and back rest. Course its fun doing it as a team too. One good thing about growing up without a man in the house - you learn how to do things for yourself! My husband is still amazed at the things I will do, that normally a man would take care of. And that I know how to use power tools and big table saws. And that I do all the yardwork. I love impressing him...........

    I've decided with the temps dropping I will start walking in the afternoons, after work. When it gets cold enough to have to wear the underalls it won't matter if I go morning or afternoon. But for now - afternoons are still warm and I don't have to wear a jacket.

    We're supposed to be taking the boat on one more excursion this Saturday - but I'm hearing its going to rain. I'd rather not go in the rain --- cuz we're supposed to be going out for a nice dinner after the boat ride around the Portland riverfront. My hair will turn into a frizz ball in the damp weather. But I'll leave it up to the other 5 people going. Honestly at this point I think I'd rather just drive up to Portland and eat something nice - but it really doesn't matter - it will be fun either way. The other couples going are my sister and her hubby - and our longtime friend (since high school) and his wife. We're all family in one way or another!

    I think I've already transitioned into 5th wheel season so the boating thing doesn't even sound that appealing anymore.

    So........... food yesterday. Bacon, a nice medium-raw rib steak and acorn squash (not the best squash I've ever had - a customer brought us a bucket full of them, but they are very small and the meat was so dry it just sucked up all the butter like a sponge and didn't have very good flavor - I think they didn't water enough while they were growing - might throw the other 2 away.) I was out of almond butter so I nibbled on a little of the Justins' Peanut Butter that I had mistakenly bought a few weeks ago. Didn't especially like it. I'm going to Cosco after work to pick up several jars of Maranatha Almond Butter, and a couple bags of chicken breasts.

    There I guess thats my blurb for this morning............ Happy Day everyone!
