Sorry you're having a rough time, Tomi. I hope you find your answers.
And I am glad that you are pain-free now. That is not a benefit to be sneezed at. How long did it take you before you started feeling better at the beginning?
thanks, girls for the support and encouragement. I never looked at it in the sense of personalities clicking or clashing. Like I said, I've never met a dog I didn't like so this one has been tough. The poor old girl has lived a good life. Both of our daughters have spoiled her rotten with love and attention. Right now she's miserable - not sure if she's in pain, but I think she is. She's scratching herself raw, and she's starting to wander to neighborhood - she's always stayed in the yard. Twice this week we've been called by neighbors that she's been spotted 5 or 6 blocks from home. So I think the cancer is in her brain. One more night.............. tomorrow morning we take her to the vet and she'll go to doggy heaven (if there is a place) ---- maybe its just heaven, and when I die I'll see her again. maybe she'll be smarter with her new heavenly body! One can only hope. I mean - I hope when I get my new heavenly body I'll be built like Bo Derek!

Anyway........ thanks a bunch! I feel better about not liking her, and looking forward to not having her. But, still, just saying it makes me cringe a bit.
Dinner is roast beef and veggies tonight - steamed veggies or a salad? maybe a salad - I make a mean salad!
Okay --- I'm needing a kick in the butt cuz I haven't been doing my daily walks or bikes for weeks! I've gone on bike rides with the hubs on the weekends - but nothing on my own. I blame the weather --- cuz thats a good excuse! Honestly, I'm just tired! I hate being so drug out........ when I first started primal eating I was feeling so good! and over the past couple months everything has gone down hill....... the energy just drained away. I'm SURE its my thyroid - it has to be. My skin in dry and icky, and so is my hair. My nails are brittle too. I'm feeling depressed when I have no reason to be. I'm not sleeping well at all. Other than being pain free - I feel like I'm right back to where I was 6 months ago. If my husband wouldn't SNORE so loud I might sleep better. I wear ear plugs and I can still hear him! Okay -- I'm seeing the doc on the 7th -- I'm sure we'll find something is amiss. I'm sure I'll be back to feeling really good in a couple months. I have to be cuz I'm looking forward to a really great summer!

There are 2 answers to Fibromyalgia.
1) Possibly Gluten Sensitivity & Celiac Disease
Celiac Disease Research: Associated Diseases and Disorders - Celiac.com
NO GLUTEN & Go on the gluten free diet & treat your intestines as they tell you
2) More than likely you are severely iodine deficient. Women suffer far more from iodine deficiency & painful fibrous tissue than men do. Fibrocystic breasts, PCOS, Endometriosis Ovary cysts, & related cancers all caused by severe iodine deficiency. We are all severely deficient because toxic halides have taken over the iodine receptors in every cell in our bodies. Every cell in our body requires iodine. We suffer from toxic bromides, fluorides, & chlorines. See this list of symptoms from fluoride posoning:
Symptoms
The solution is iodine supplements with the required vitamins. Iodine will detox your body.
Their is MUCH MORE, google fibromyalgia iodineA lack of iodine causes a spectrum of disorders, goiter, hypothyroidism, various auto-immune diseases, diabetes, bronchial asthma, lung disease, dermatological problems, candida and other microbes, irritable bowel, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, hyperactive disorder, attention deficit disorder, mental retardation, cretinism, and fibrocystic breast disease. Iodine deficiency can cause breast cancer, uterine cancer, ovarian cancer, prostate cancer, testicular cancer, thyroid cancer, and lung cancer. If you are at risk for any of these types of cancers, it is wise to be checked for Iodine Deficiency.

Yes, that is what I am being most strict about. My whole hypothesis is that I am among those who are more sensitive to grains. I even passed on breaded zucchini and turkey scallops on Sunday, just because of the flour. I want to go grain-free for the entire month, at least. And then if I have a significant reaction, like you, I will know that they really are a significant part of my health problems.
Even if that doesn't happen, I could very well continue eating this way because I find my energy levels are more constant without all those carbs. (Although to be fair, I was eating much less than most people do.) And there's no way I can be eating both carbs and fat without packing it on again, so one or the other has to go. Although I'm still miles away from boundless energy, it's nice not to be slumping quite so often.

Thanks, Grizz! I have just added some supplements to my arsenal! Kelp, CoQ10 and Quercetin are the newest. Also Magnesium. I'm hoping to start feeling a bit more energy soon. If not - I have that doc appt on the 7th and will see what the blood shows.
Today I was down 1.8 pounds! Can't complain about that. I am happy to be down to the 180's --- instead of being over 200! I think its strange that I start taking these new pills and suddenly the scales move........... coincedence? maybe - maybe not. I also feel like I have a little more energy today. Even though my husband is still keeping me awake with his freight train snoring! At least today I don't feel like I'm carrying around 20 pound weights. I'm tired, but not fatigued feeling.
Here's a list of my supplements for future use:
Multiple Vitamin (with tons of stuff)
Vitamin B Complex
Vitamin D 3 - 4000 units/day
Vitamin C - 2000 units/day
Vitamin E
Fish Oil
Calcium
Magnesium
Potassium
Fenugreek
CoQ10
Quercetin
Kelp
Probiotic
Sheesh! Takes me two12 ounce glasses of water to swallow them all. But then I'm really full for a long time and don't want to eat anything! Bonus!
I like not tracking my every move! It was too much stress. Right now I'm eating according to my hunger and appetite. If I'm feeling hunger, but I have no taste for anything - I won't eat. Thats the easy side..... the hard side is when the brain says, "hey, I want something to eat" but the hunger isn't there. Then I have to let the self-control kick in. I know I'm not hitting the 80x3 goal. But I'm good with it for now. I'm eating healthy foods in the quantities my body is asking for. I think thats this right way to go about it.
We put the little dog down last night. I actually shed a few tears so I guess I liked her just a little. Today I started cleaning up after her. Sick dogs can leave some unpleasant messes. I'm glad to have it overwith - she was sick for a long time and it was time to let her go. As my husband said, with her taking to wandering off she would likely get hit by a car, so it was best to end it now before things got worse. But, now the house seems so quiet. For months she's been coughing and sneezing, and itching and biting! And she wasn't quiet about any of it. For the first time in months I'm not edge and wanting to lock her in the laundry room so I don't have to listen to it. We now have one dog (Basset Hound named Zeus), and a cat named BoBo Kitty. Down from 3 dogs and 3 cats a few years ago! My house will surely stay cleaner now!
I wish the weather would decide to stay spring-ish! I was about to go out for a walk about an hour ago and it suddenly started to downpour! Everyone out for their morning stroll got drenched! Now its clearing up but I have to go get ready for work! Maybe tonight we will go for a walk........

You gotta be careful mixing a multi with the variations of vitamins you have listed here. Your multi will likely have Vit D, C, and E in it as well as potassium, magnesium, etc. Some of those are toxic if too much is injested so make sure the combination doesn't take you over the safe limits.
Hello, Tomi. I just read through your journal, getting to know you. The whole thing in one whack, so some of my comments will be for older things. Hope you can figure out what I am trying to say.
First, yay for getting such relief from your fibromyalgia! That's a wonderful benefit.
I know you are disappointed with only ten pounds in five months, but I think you should consider that you are healing your body first. Perhaps it won't be able to release much extra weight while it is still healing. That said, although slow, ten pounds is nothing to sneeze at. You would be at your goal in 2016, which sounds like a long time, but think back four years. if you had found out about this then, wouldn't you be glad to be hitting a good weight? the time will pass, regardless.
Next, seems like changing from your bacon and eggs, etc, to the 3x80 didn't do much, not even the 2 pounds per month you were getting before. Maybe it is time to switch back? (As an aside, my goal is one pound per week. I have been a little shy of it, most months, but I am feeling so good that I don't care. Mostly. Sometimes, you know, we all get impatient.)
Had to laugh about Naan being manna from heaven, but causing pains. Maybe it is really from the other place. Do they send out fake manna?
Maybe you could invite your sister for a visit, and feed her. You said you started getting relief after just three days. If she was also so lucky, you might convince her.
Any chance that IBS was set off by the frappacino? Sometimes I think coffee is just as bad as nightshades in that regard.
I'm sorry about your dog situation? Was she fed primally? We have noticed an AMAZING difference in our dogs since we started feeding them what they are evolved for (NOT corn, like so many dog foods have in them.)
I have to weigh in on the no statins side of the argument. There is NO evidence that suggests they are useful for women of a certain age. I have to wonder if going on them as young as you did might have impacted your health as regards to the fibromyalgia.
Looking forward to keeping up with you in real time from now on. I've enjoyed your writing.
@Sabine - thanks for following! When I started this journal I didn't expect anyone to care about what I wrote but its fun having people chime in and say Hi - and offer advice or comments.
Lets see........Let me try to answer some questions.
* YES, adding the bacon and eggs back into the equation. YUMMY!
* Theres NO way Naan could be from the "dark side"! Have you ever had it? Its like the best bread on earth!
* My sister is one of the most stubborn people I know - but! I just talked to her a couple days ago and she said she's going to give it a try! WOO HOO!
* I wish I could blame the IBS attack on something! ANYTHING! cuz I would ban that item from ever crossing my lips - but for the life of my I can't figure out whats causing it. Seems to be no rhymn nor reason to it. I am lactose intolerant, but always take a lactaid pill with any dairy.
* Yes she was a fed a corn free diet - one of our other dogs was allegic to corn so they all benefited!
* Doc says I do have options for the cholesterol issues - that are not statins. I'm not going back on them. Need to get my weight down to lower the CRP - and hopefully the diet and exercise will bring down the cholesterol numbers. Time will tell on that one.
Thanks for checking in! We'll chat more next time!
@Jenn26point2 --- Good point on the supplements - I need to get all my bottles on the table and start calculating. I guess I could be over doing it on some things. I have about 30 minutes before the hubs comes to get me for dinner w/friends, so I'll work on it right now! Thanks for the nudge!
Over all.............. this was a pretty great day!I'm feeling really good! I think maybe that little suprise on the scales had a little to do with the mood boost!
Yeah! Hope it keeps going........
We're having dinner at a pizza place.......... GOOD thing they have a pretty good salad bar. I'm eating some left of roast beef now so I get in some good healthy grass fed beef for the day.
Later gater!
