The dune buggy was a heap of parts and rusted out everything when he found it. It was actually sitting in a farmers field with grass and weeds growing up through it. He bought it and had it completely restored. The front end needs some tweaking, but other than that it is running good. He keeps it at the boatshop in the summer and they use it for lunch and parts runs!

I'm sure feeling aweful today! Yesterday was my first day of diarrhea/pain in over 2 weeks! Today its worse than it was yesterday. The ONLY thing different in my diet is those damn dark chocolate m&m's. I've missed two days of work because of this! I thought I was going to be okay after several runs to the bathroom this morning - then I ate some cauliflower mash with a little bit of cheese - and the cramping and diarrhea started in again! Dang it!

If I don't go to work to do my job then the billing department can't do her job! So if I'm sick it messes up others - and I don't like to be the one to cause problems in the office! GRRR............ damn stomach!

Hey Tomi! Happy belated birthday! Sounds like you've had quite a lot going on. But your numbers have gone down since last I saw you.

Hey Judg!!! Nice pic! Thanks for the birthday wishes. 52 and counting............ I seem to keep cycling through the same numbers....... 188-192. I'm trying to be really careful this week. I did have a little sugar yesterday, but just a little.

I hope you're feeling better, Tomi. Any change in the GI area? I hope it has subsided.

Hey Jenn --- yes, feeling better. I think it was the dark chocolate m&m's I nibbled on over the weekend.

Today......... we have guests coming for the night. We don't know these people. Unless you count my husband knowing this family 44 years ago in India. I'm sorta in the Twilight Zone with the whole idea of hosting a family of perfect strangers for an evening and over night. We have offered them the 5th wheel. Its very roomy with 2 slide outs - so plenty of room for the 5 of them - and privacy as well. They have everything they need out there - water, beds, a bathroom complete with shower. A full kitchen with chilled bottled water in the fridge. There's bedspace for 4 between 2 queen beds - and floor space for the 5th. I made a pot of chicken curry last night - I'm about to get the rice soaking and start the papadoms (indian rice flours chips). Everything is clean and ready....... I'll let you know tomorrow how it went.

I will be a little scarce over the next week. After tonight, my sister and her hubby are coming to stay with us - again they will be our 5th wheel guests - its our little guest house!

Okay........... I haven't eaten all day - first food was at 2:30 pm - a sweet potato. and now I'm getting a stomach ache. Great!

Time to get started on the final touches..............

I've been cycling through the same numbers for the last month too, but finally broke out the bottom this morning. I better not bounce up again tomorrow! I'm trying to be extra-good to keep the momentum going. I am due for a change.

Me too Judg! I need a change........... I'm trying to be really careful what I eat - but I'm not being neurotic about it. A tiny bit of brown sugar on my sweet potato once a week isn't going to hurt anything. I nibbled on a few m&m's over the weekend - and paid for it when my intestines revolted on Monday morning!

I tried the Tae Bo DVD --- still not ready for that. Three days of going easy and only about 15 minutes and I was down for the count for a couple days. Maybe I should do 10 minutes every other day for a while and see how that goes.

Your new numbers are so exciting!!! I'm happy and jealous all at the same time!

Last few minutes before our guests arrive............ dinner is ready - the house is ready - the 5th wheel is ready. all is ready.

There is a website called couchsurfer dot com or something similar where people ask for places to stay for free and others offer up their couch. What you're doing isn't as odd as you might think. Marathoners who travel the country to run races do it frequently - that's actually where I learned about it, although I've never done it.

well - our overnight guests were very pleasant - and my husband and his brother did have plenty of childhood memories to talk about with him. His wife and her kids were very nice and we all enjoyed the evening.

Now my sister and her husband are here for a week. We spent Saturday and Sunday up at the lake. It was lots of fun! the temps were up to 100 degrees so getting in that cool lake was necessary! But............ my diet completely went out the window all weekend! Today its back to business.

I may not be writing much over the next few days since I will be busy with family and work...........
