AWESOME! Happy Birthday to your girls!

Thanks for the compliment........... I do love gardening!!! The pergola was the last big project and it certainly gave the yard the "punch" I was looking for!!!! This morning I walked around the yard and took pictures of various things in bloom. My sister told me I missed my calling.......... she said I should ditch the job at the doctors office and design yards instead. Boy - now that would be my dream job for sure!

Ah for a moment there I thought today was your birthday. Glad I amused you, and glad you're resting. It would have been expensive to come whoop your butt... I would have insisted on hanging out in your gorgeous yard in return.

I think we would have a great time hanging out in my backyard! Just tell the Professor you have an appointment in Oregon!

I did good today! I rested this morning - was even a little late for work (not technically since I have a flexible schedule) because I was relaxing in the hanging chair a little longer than I had planned. Work was busy for a change so I put in a good 4 hours today! Then I came home and started dinner --- mashed cauliflower, steamed brocolli, carrots and zuchini, with pan fried salmon! Doesn't get any better than this! Accept I slightly overcooked the salmon. Its pretty good just dipped in the cauliflower mash though!

    Breakfast - 3 eggs
    Snack - 1 oz almonds
Dinner - 6 oz Salmon, veggies
    2nd snack - 1 oz almonds
    3rd snack - 2 sq. dark chocolate

    yum.................

Tonight - I must mow the grass.....

Well - the grass did not get mowed last night - so I'm heading out the door to get it done this morning. If I hadn't got stuck on facebook for an hour it would have been done by now! I should know better.

So far no food today - but its still early. I'll mow and then eat.

Sounds like you did well yesterday.

Well, if I ever head towards the West Coast, I will let you know. I'm afraid it hasn't happened yet though, other than one quick stay in LA for DS's graduation. No car and no time to play tourist, so we only saw one neighbourhood. Interesting trip nonetheless, for other reasons.

I hear ya --- I've never been to the upper east coast of the US - or ANY points in Canada! But we may be going up into the San Juans this fall for a nice little vacation on our boat I've been to Florida a few times. I almost got to the upper east coast once for a business trip - but a hurricane changed my plans.

Okay - grass mowed and the sprinker is helping it grow some more!!! I've watered all the flower pots on the patio and gave a couple thirsty hydrangeas a little drink. The boatshop bank account is balanced and I have a whole new stack of bills to be paid (thanks hubby for forgetting to get the mail AGAIN). I'll go to work for a couple hours and then make a bank run, come home and attempt to do some MUCH needed house cleaning! My floors are SO gross! Dang hairy dog!

Yesterday I did good on the eating but I think I need to skip the dark chocolate. Those are not necessary or beneficial calories. Yummy - YES! but I could certainly do without them. Total calories for the day approx 1200. I think too high on fat though. 63%. Probably could do without the almonds as well. Had I forgone both the almonds and the chocolate my numbers would have been better. I do have baby carrots in the fridge that I could snack on if the need arises. Today I will do better.

Hi Tomi! Glad to see you're doing so well. I discovered something on the Whole9 Life website. They have a SHOPPING LIST!! If you go to the site and use the "Our New Book" link at the top, it'll take you to a brief overview of their book and below that is a list of links with great documents. I've got the shopping list. I think it'll be helpful for me by showing me other options.

Thanks, Jenn......... will check it out!

Edit: Okay - totally cool website! I put it on my favorites bar right next the MDA and Facebook!

I sent an email to my sister with the link as well. She's still not willing to give this a try even though I have had such amazing results with the fibro issues. She's still stuck in her aches, pains and complaints while I'm out riding my bike and walking miles and miles and miles! I will her credit though - she's lost about 45 pounds just by "being careful" of what she is eating. That means she's doing the CW thing. Whatever............ by next summer I'll be down to my healthy, happy weight and running circles around her!

yeah! those 4 pounds of bloat are GONE! but I'm still up 4 pounds from my lowest in June. I see the doc tomorrow and I'm hoping she will increase my Armour. Its such a slow process! 2 months between titrations! UGH! But I know thyroid issues are tricky and tempermental! A very small adjustment can make a big difference sometimes. I'm just sure it needs to be increased. My energy level is still not good, and I'm still not sleeping very well. And for the calories I'm taking in - I should be losing weight, and I'm not. I eat between 1000 and 1500 calories a day....... mostly in the 1200 range. I should be losing at least a pound a week on that. But I'm not. How frustrating! Hopefully she will just go by clinical indications and not wait on blood tests to increase my dose. I'm taking the very lowest - that can't possibly be enough to make any difference.

Last night I was up at midnight......... the night before we were sitting out by the fire and I got skeeter bites on my feet! Apparently skeeters can bite through thick socks! So, now I have about 6 bites on both feet -- and it makes it really hard to sleep when my feet are itching and burning! I put a sunburn soother with Lidacain on then twice during the night! It helps for a while, but wears off. I'm not going out without bug spray from now on!

Still trying to decide about going on vacation in February. We're leaning towards doing a 5th wheel trip down the coast highway - boarder to boarder or whatever time will permit. That will be the most economical - and probably a lot of fun. No agenda, no reservations........... just go and do and see and relax! Sounds good. I'll make a list of RV places along the way so we aren't totally winging it! The good thing about RVing is....... if all else fails you can just pull off to the side of the road and crawl into bed! Its a house on wheels. I will also make a list of optional places to stop for entertainment....... Sea Lions Caves, Myrtle Beach.... stuff like that. Should be fun.

Its 10:30 and I still haven't eaten breakfast. Not really wanting to. But I will need to eat before I go to work this afternoon. I think I'll just warm up some left over salmon or hamburger patty. Yesterday I slow cooked a nice big roast - but it was a chuck roast, and had tons of fat! Not just marbling fat - but big chunks of hard chewy, nasty gross fat! We pulled it all apart and got rid of the yucky fat stuff - I guess thats going to be dinner tonight. Also - a customer gifted hubby with 6 nice crabs yesterday! All cleaned and ready to put in the pot! So, at 10 pm last night we were sitting in from of the tv cracking and shelling crab! The discusting part was - after an hour of shelling, we ended up with only 18 ounces of crab meat! UGH. We put it in the freezer to be used for future crab/shrimp cakes. YUMMY!

Your vacation sounds nice, except for all the driving. it sounds nice and relaxing, but I think after a bit I'd be tired of roadtripping and just want to stop and camp for a few days. My dad and stepmom drive from Iowa to Vegas every few years and hit the touristy stops along the way (badlands, rushmore, yellowstone, etc), but they reach a final destination where they stay a few days. That appeals to me, more, I guess.
