Thanks, PrimalC and Kmarie! I anticipate an easy surgery and a smooth recovery!

Work is off my plate for the next 3-4 days. I may have some work on Friday if I'm up to it. Will work from home next week. With remote access to the patient files I can easily work from home and if the boss brings me the mail and deposit stuff I can prepare all that as well. It might take me longer -- but for the next 6 weeks I will working slower anyway. I should plan to be at the office longer hours for a while.

Sounds like you've prepared as much as you can. As for eating before leaving the hospital, you could always bring something in a small cooler that you know is safe, or have hubby bring it in if he's going to be home between when you go in and he takes you home.

I wouldn't think too much about work for Friday, take the full week and just relax/recover. You may find post op you feel a little off for the rest of the week, plus making sure you get good pain control. Take the meds regularly for the first couple of days, rather than waiting until you are getting really uncomfortable. And sleep lots, if you can. Movies might help pass the time nicely.

    Sending positive thoughts for tomorrow.

Thanks I plan to take it easy as long as I need to.

I've got everything caught up at the office that I possibly can and now at home too - except for a little housework - but really - the place is pretty tidy - just not as "clean" as I would like. The laundry and dishes all got done yesterday - I vacuumed Thursday before bible study I washed some windows and doors over the weekend. We did yard work. Tonight I prepared and made a deposit and paid bills for the boatshop. Next............. shower with the special scrubby sponge (probably betadine soup) wash my hair and let it dry naturally. EEEK!! Can't have any goop in it tomorrow. No make up tomorrow either. I'm glad my hubby loves ME and not what I put on my face to make me look better! (ex always insisted I wear make up and have my hair just right -- no wonder I'm so self conscious). I took an anti-diarrheal just in case. I'll take another tomorrow morning. I shouldn't have to worry about my gutt if the pipes are plugged up!

So............. next time I write in my journal will be post surgery........... when the drugs wear off!

Thanks for all the well wishes, prayers, good advice and encouragement!

Thanks, Pedidoc! I'm having nothing but positive thoughts this morning! Must be all that energy coming from my MDA family.

I woke up at 4:30 - after 5 hours of waking up every hour on the hour!! I shouldn't have any trouble sleeping the day away! I took 2 Vicodin last night about 9 pm .............. and no heat rub since I had already started the antiseptic scrubbing phase - I guess the drugs must have wore off around 4 am. I woke up in the worst pain I have felt since this all began 6 months ago. I laid in bed trying not to moan loud enough to wake hubby. I finally got up at 6 and got in the shower. Scrubbed again with the antiseptic sponge - and got my hair wet. A blow dry is all I'm doing to it today.

Everything is ready.............. here we go!!! I have to be at the hospital in an hour. And so begins my 12-18 weeks of figuring out a new way to do things until I can back to doing things the normal way!

Gut is doing good............. positive thoughts!!!
