trying to get all these pills in order and figure out when and how to take them. The Armour has to be taken upon awakening in the morning - so she told me to keep it by my bed and take one as soon as I wake up for the day. Then, I can't take any iron or calcium for 4 hours after the Armour - and my Adrenal Support is supposed to be taken in the morning with food (so much for Ifing.) That means, if I have this straight: Armour when I wake up, wait 30 minutes, then Adrenal Support with food, then the rest of vitamins and junk I should take later in the day with dinner I suppose --- then the Seriphos at bedtime with my sleep aid! Holy cow............. I feel like an old lady taking all these pills! I already use a pill minder - now I will have pills scattered all over the house! HAHA! My husband is going to make fun of me even more!

I had a nice chat on facebook with a very old friend from high school. I almost had her convinced to try primal, but she decided her system couldn't take all the fat! Whatever - I'm not into twisting anyones arm to get them to give it a shot.

The weather looks okay right now and I want to go out for a walk......... I guess I should take an umbrella just in case....... an old high school teacher would call this a Pooh Bear day!

Toni, I take mine right before bed 3 hours after eating. I was told that as long as it's at the same time every day it's fine. That leaves the morning for supplements & stuff. I heard that the thyroid activates or release hormones around 2 am anyway, so night can't be too bad. My new endo scoffs at that and says as long as its at the same time, that's the key.

    Love your pic!

thanks, Kerry! I work for an Endo, so I'll get his take on it too.

Okay Day 4. Weight is down 3 pounds and I have been 100% on the mark with Whole30.

Breakfast - one egg scrambled with 4 oz ground turkey.
Snack - an ounce of almonds
Dinner - 12 oz of cod fried in olive oil and ghee.

I think I'm in ketosis by now - today's carbs=6.6 grams. I wonder if I should have more? we still are going to the Indian Restaraunt with hubby's daughters - but I'm just going to order some chicken, or a salad if they have any american food. I haven't had any veggies today....... Maybe they have a veg. curry that I could eat without the rice. ??? we'll see......... time to go.

I've tried digestive enzymes, don't seem to make any difference in the bowel issues. I have problems with chronic diarrhea so bile salts would make it worse - at least according to my research. I have plenty of bile!

Made it through the Indian meal without eating anything I wasn't supposed to! I order a mixed Tandori plate and only ate a few peices of it - I'll have the rest for lunch tomorrow! Yeah!

Morning Jenn - yes, we did have a nice night out. Drove 45 minutes to see step daughters and have some good Indian food! It was good to have all 5 of us together again - hubby, me, my son, his 2 daughters! Its the sweet spots in life that make the duldrums doable!

I'm feeling like a rock star today! 5 days on Whole30 and I'm down 4 pounds. Water? Most definitely, but there has to be a bit of fat in there too. I'm 100% whole and I'm feeling good. I wonder how much I will lose in the 30 days. I'm sure the weight loss will slow down once the water weight is gone, but then I'll know its real fat being burned from there.

So - took the first supplement last night, took the first Armour Thyroid this morning, and the first Adrenal Support this morning. I won't take the rest of my pills until 10:30 - 4 hours after taking the Armour. I'm expecting to feel a bit more energy and see some additional weight loss as a result! Course, I know I have to be patient as it takes time for these things to do their jobs.

I was going say - knowing that my cortisol levels spike in the morning explains the waking up and having all sorts of fretful thoughts run through my mind! All these years I've thought I was just a hopeless worry-wort! But when doc asked me how I feel when I wake up in the morning - tired or stressed? At first I said tired, cuz I never feel really rested, but then I told her that I almost always wake up and start worrying about the business finances, or my relationship with the step daughters, or thinking hubby is going to die in some freak accident at work! And she said, "thats the cortisol". OH! so I'm not neurotic afterall! Thats a relief!!!! COME ON pills - DO YOUR STUFF!!!!!

I have a busy day ahead of me. Hubby is going on his annual fishing trip with his bible study guys on Saturday, and I've been asked to contribute my "famous" potato salad and peanut butter/oatmeal/chocolate chip cookies. So, it will also be a challenging day! I mixed up the cookie dough yesterday and not one lick went in my mouth! I'll bake them today and make the potato salad. I don't think it will be a big deal........ I'm in ketosis and not about break it!!!! I've broke my addiction to peanut butter, and the milk chocolate doesn't hold a candle to 72% dark chocolate! And all that sugar is just yucky now! So, the cookies will be no problem. As for the potato salad --- I can't handle mayo anymore - gives me heartburn and a nauseous feeling - so I don't think the potato salad will be too much trouble either! What gets me is the smell! I love the smell of both of them! So maybe just a good inhale will be enough to satisfy and I won't be tempted to taste. Smelling is totally permissable on Whole30!

I have several things on my to do list for today and tomorrow. I might tackle the bedroom.......... having been wanted to redecorate for years! I've just been dragging my feet - but I think maybe tomorrow is the day to do it! I will need to go buy a new bedspread and curtains, and then buy the paint - and start painting! I love painting! We will probably be going to stay the night on the boat Saturday night anyway - so the new paint fumes won't be an issue. I'm thinking a nice sandy beigh on the walls with a dark red for the bed and curtains! Sounds YUMMY! I definitely need some room darkening curtains because we have both east and west facing windows in there! It gets sunrise, sunset - and all the summer heat! Bed Bath and Beyond! Here I come!

Your bedroom dreams sound nice. I have been in my house since 2007 and still haven't painted the walls. They're unprotected drywall at this point.

I wake up exhausted, and then stress b/c I'm always late - because I am too tired to get out of bed. Cortisol??

Enjoy the smell of your cookies. I'd have to eat one.

I still haven't learned how to cook without snitching.

Glad you've got a bit of direction with your problems. And I hope the pills work. Iron is definitely a constipator, so low levels would lead to diarrhea for sure. That's what happened with me. No longer an issue, apparently.

Good Saturday Morning! Yesterday I hit Bed Bath and Beyond and bought a nice deep purple bedcover and room darkening curtains to match. Then I made sure hubby approved before I bought paint. I was up with the chickens this morning and out to Lowes to buy paint! I bought "oatmeal" to go with the purple. I hope its a good blend. Seemed nice in the store with the little 2x2 sample they provide. I will find out by the end of the day when I have it all done. Hubby is out fishing with 18 if his friends! So he will have a nice new bedroom to come home to.

Jenn ---- time for you to put some texture and paint on those walls! You have to make your environment a comfortable peaceful place - it helps with all kinds of emotions and stuff! Got for it!

I made it through the cookie baking without one drop of cookie dough going in my mouth! It smelled wonderful though! The potato salad I had to taste just a bit to make sure it was seasoned enough. I would say only about 1 tsp of mayo actually got eaten - if that. So, I feel successful. A couple years ago I was doing Medifast - a soy based meal replacement diet - and if you ate just one bite of anything that was "un-allowed" it would throw you out of ketosis and they said it would take up to 3 days to get your body back into full ketosis! So, I learned during that "diet" how to not snitch while cooking.

I didn't weigh this morning. So I'm hoping the next time I weigh I will have a several pound drop! Wouldn't that be fun! a pound a day has been wonderful during this first week on Whole30 - but it would be really fun to see a number several digits down! I will be jumping for primal joy!

    So yesterday I had:
    All my pills - yeah!
    breakfast: 2 eggs
    Lunch: 1 oz almonds
dinner: left over Indian Tandoori Mixed Grill and a large sweet potato with ghee and cinnamon.

I went to bed feeling a bit too full. I had the sw. pot. at about 9 pm.

I'm sleeping pretty good. No trouble falling asleep, woke up a couple times to go potty (normal) and then woke up bright and early and ready to go to the store and buy paint! By 7 am I had cleaned out the bedroom, down to the big heavy furniture and gathered up the painting supplies! I'm on a roll! And so - time to get to it!

Wish you all could come help me paint!

EDIT: Later............ UGH!!! thats a big room! I decided to just brush it on cuz it wasn't covering very good and didn't want to have to do a second coat - I got about 3/4 done and pooped out! The bed and the arm-wa ( I don't know how to spell that!) with the TV in it were just to heavy for me and my son to move, so it will have to wait for hubby to come and help. So, I still have a 1/4 of the bedroom and the entire bathroom to paint. A few hours of work I would guess. Maybe tomorrow - but I'm sure tired tonight! 57 (or so) trips up and down the ladder - its a vaulted ceiling! Plus I woke up at 5:50 ready to start the day! I'm done - time to just sit here and watch mindless TV. My son is watching a Merlin marithon (boring).

Hubby isn't home from fishing yet. I guess we won't be going to the boat tonight - just as well cuz its not very warm out there. I hope he catches lots of fish to eat tomorrow.

    Report
    All pills
    breakfast: 2 eggs
    lunch: almonds
dinner: 7 oz chicken breast, mixed steamed veggies, with 4 small slices of sweet potato.

So far today - only 733 calories. 9% carbs. 38% fat. 44% protein. I guess I should have more calories, but I won't unless I feel hungry. I'm training my brain to listen to my stomach. Hunger=food No Hunger=fast Pretty basic.

I will weigh tomorrow - fingers crossed for another new low! I'd really like to see 185 on the scales. I'm rambing because I'm so bored! I don't have much to say............. I'll be shocked to see if anyone is reading this drivel!
