Valmason01......... one of my tools is walking. I started out just walking a block - then over the course of about 6 months I worked up to walking a mile, now I can walk 2.5 miles and feel GREAT! The other thing is a MUST -- NO sugar!!! Sugar puts me into a tail spin faster than anything else.

Have you been diagnosed by a general practitioner or by a specialist? GP will tag a name on anything they can't figure out just to say it has a name. Did your diagnosis include a Tender Points analysis? That is a final say in getting a diagnosis of fibromyalgia.

You're fatigue sounds more like CFS to me.

The weekend had a couple glitches food and beverage-wise. I ate 2 biscuits and some french fries on Saturday - and had rum both nights. Oh well. I went 18 days with totally clean eating - that was a big success as far as I'm concerned. I'm back in the saddle today and will do another long stint of clean eating and no rum before our vacation. I have 3 full weeks to be spot on and then I'll ease up a bit over vacation.

We got my son all moved into his house. What a nice place for him to start out in! 2500 sq. ft. - 4 bedrooms and 3 rentable spaces for him to bring in some extra cash. The master is in the basement so he will have his own private space to get away from it all! I'm awefully proud of him - he's had a long hard hill to climb to get to this point - but he's doing really good and he's gonna be fine. He was a bit scared when we left him there on Saturday --- understandably so --- I think we are all a bit scared on our first night totally on our own. But he said once he got busy doing stuff he was fine, and slept well too! Yeah.

And now I can BREATHE ................ I've done my job raising him - and helping him overcome his social anxiety issues - I can rest easy now and just let him fly.

You have such a great attitude about getting back on track. I hope you get your clean 15 before vacation and that you can keep it Primal during vaca as well. I made 12 days before the first binge. I now have six clean days again. If I make it through the month with only 3 bad days it will be my best month in a year.

I'm so glad your son is settled. How exciting for him. All three of my sons have anxiety and social issues due to Asperger's. I hope for the day that they can see that it is possible to successfully be on their own even with a disability.

I have had the Tender Points analysis though that doesn't rule out CFS. I have not been eating as cleanly as normal lately and having a hard time getting back in the swing. So it probably is just my own fault. That and overdoing the exercise and then not being able to do anything for days. I have some work ahead of me! Thanks for the answers!

I can easily have a good attitude because this WOE is so EASY!!!

My son has worked really hard to overcome his social anxiety. This past year has been huge for him! Aspergers is a tough one! Would they get involved in an online support group? I thought my son had it, had him tested by a psychologist, nope. I was happy to know he didn't have it - but he tends to have several traits. Making emotional connections is difficult for him. He will be 28 in April - so, he's a bit behind his peers on the social playing field. He's never even been on a date. I am praying this next year will be life changing for him.

its possible you have both. Although my fatigue got so bad that I had to quit working about 5 years ago. I spent a lot of days in my jammies, doing pretty much nothing for that first year. So, the fatigue part of fibro could be just really bad for you. My best advice is to eat as cleanly as you possibly can!!! NO sugar - NO grains !! And try to work up slowly to rebuild your stamina.

Let me know if I can help at all!

I think my guys will be OK. My eldest who is a senior in HS has the lowest level of Aspergers but has ADD from his Dad. He has lots of friends, but poor self esteem and is in counseling for that. He can't wait to graduate HS and go on to college. My middle guy is in a special program for Aspergers kids at his HS. He is a fabulous artist and really has a good sense of self. My baby is 8 and we worry about him the most. He is highest on the spectrum, so we'll see. It is interesting to me that they have begun connecting Asperger's to metabolic syndrome in the mother. I don't blame myself necessarily, but it is intriguing that as my health got worse, my kids seem to have more issues.

so........ my first monday night without my son being here. Hubby goes to his men's group on mondays - so I'm ALONE!! WEIRD!

I've eaten very oddly today. I started out with a big mug of homemade broth - then ate a small sweet potato with butter before I went to work. I took another mug of broth to work with me. When I got home I ate 4 cream cheese clouds. Thats it. I'm full. I keep thinking I should make some dinner - but if I'm not hungry there really isn't a need to cook.

I bought some xylotol............. anyone have any opinions on that? Besides it being insanely expensive! The stevia seems to have a bitter after taste. I want to do some baking for our vacation and I want to have a sweetener that doesn't make it taste nasty! I'm also going to make some more cream cheese clouds (cuz I ate the last 4 today). I need to get some almond flour too.

Super Bowl party is fast approaching! We're doing a Loaded Baked Potato Bar and BBQ Chicken Wings. We've asked our guests to bring sides and desserts. I'm sure that day will be heavy on the carbs due to the baked potato part of the meal. I don't want to be the only one eating a plate of steamed veggies.

Hey, the spammers are out tonight! Don't you feel special?

I use xylitol in my homemade toothpaste. It is supposed to have anti-fungal properties and actually be good for your teeth. As you probably know, it is made from birch bark. Be careful not to get the stuff made from corn. And yah, wicked expensive.
