I am a morbidly obese physician (yes, I am embarrassed to say that), and I admit I am from the old school of nutrition (CW as Mr. Sisson calls it). I just finished reading his book, and I am am ready to go Primal. I am doing this for myself first, but I hope that with time (and God willing, success at this lifestyle) I will be able to help my patients, rather than just prescribe another statin or diabetic medication.
I admit I am not very informed about nutrition, and the role of nutrition in health. Many physicians are in the same boat. But after searching for solutions for my own obesity, I can truly say that current conventional thinking about weight loss just doesn't cut it.
I'll post in the future if things go well. Good luck to all of you.

Welcome to the Cave, Tubby.
There are so many knowledgable people here, all ya gotta do is ask ;-)
Please keep posting, if you hit some kind of a roadblock, I'm sure between us we can figure out a way around it.
OMG, I wish I knew any physicians who were brave and smart enough to follow their hearts/ intuition and not what they've been brainwashed to believe!!!
Tubby, be my family doctor! :]
Tubby, check out Dr. Eades - he's a physician as well, but "one of us", pretty much. Lots of good info: http://www.proteinpower.com/drmike/
Welcome, and please keep us posted with your progress and any questions you may have
Wow! Thanks so much for keeping an open mind and realizing that the mainstream approach is not the answer. The world needs more people like you right now. Welcome.
I hope that you learn as much as we have from taking the leap!
The other book a lot of us read is Body by Science by Dr. McGuff.
It focuses a bit more on the exercise while Mark's is a bit more on diet.
I call them the First and Second testament when it comes to health.
Good Luck Dr. Tubby. This is also a support group so just don't post the good news.
