    Best junk food recipe book????

    Primal Fuel
I did something dumb tonight. Went to a birthday party, took no primal food and ate 100 percent processed carp!!!!!

Omg I feel like I can't even function right now. I'm gonna have the worst hangover tomorrow.

I'm at the point where going off primal for any length of time is not a good idea!!!!!

Anyone have good suggestions for easy recipe books that not only have meal ideas but also primal cake, muffins, weekend foods?????

    Thanks guys

    Just . Don't . Eat . Crap.

Not trying to go smartass on you but I go somewhere and there's no actual food, I don't eat. You can always chow down on the good stuff when you get home or simply turn it into an unplanned fast.

No suggestions on the cake/muffin/weekend food thing. I don't eat the first two at all and my weekend food is the same as my weekday food; lots of meat, veggies and a little fruit & dairy.

Oh why bother, life is so short. Eat gluten free deserts in restaurants once in a while but don't learn to make stuff at home, just not that primal.

Hi kiwi, I am somewhat of a different mindset than others about the treats etc. I figure life is short and I don't want my grandbabies, kids or me to go without things we enjoy for our entire lives so what I do Is find a recipe on line for whatever I want, life biscuits with our stew tonight, or strawberry shortcake for them lastnight or b-day cake for grandbaby or pie for DH and then I make it healthy, I replace oil with butter or coconut oil, I replace regualar salt with Himalayan or sea salt, I replace flour with white rice flour, or 1/2 rice flour and half ground macadamia or hazelnuts. I use the best ingredients I can afford like real 100%cocoa bars, and I use raw honey and/or pure stevia as a sweetner. I have flops and I have clapping but I refuse to not have treats for my family. I make my grandbabies pancakes with real maple syrup and I make faux bread to give them homemade almond butter and strawberry jam (made with no sugar) for sandwhiches at grammas. Good luck.

I dont really like the 'trying to cheat the sweets mindset ' either but I would say the best site out there for primal friendly dessert is elana's pantry

I don't like processed carp either. I do have a soft spot for Target's Archer Farms Wild Caught shrimp though!

I occasionally just have whatever when we are out. For example, I know that when I go to a party, there's going to be chips, dips, breads, and sweets of all kinds. I eat them. And I don't worry about it.

I found that by saying "yes, i can eat anything at the party" that I tend to be more relaxed and not over-eat. I'll pass up chips and bean-dips for example, and instead go for veggies. I'll pass up sweets but have a nicely baked cake and perhaps some ice cream (instead of candies, cookies, etc). So, it's just a little bit and it's comfortable.

I do not make "primal" treats ever. First, I don't care to bake and most of these things are too intensive for my tastes anyway. Second, I don't want that stuff around my house. It's difficult to be responsible. Third, it makes the times when I do splurge "treats!" and nice for me rather than a guilty thingy.
