IF and muscle gain
Will fasting on rest days inhibit muscle gain?
In the past year and a half, I've gained about twenty pounds through lifting heavy and eating 3,000+ calories every day. I've recently gotten into fasted training, which works really well for me. Basically, on workout days, I fast until around 5:00 PM, workout, and then eat 3,000 - 3,500 calories. My question is more particular to rest days -- I've read that protein synthesis continues for the next 48 hours after a workout, so it's optimal to eat the next morning for muscle gain. This sounds pretty questionable to me, but I'm not too well-versed in exercise science.
The thing is, I have so much more energy when I skip breakfast. Any input or links to studies would be greatly appreciated!
