    Question Blood Sugar Question?

    Shop Now
I have been fasting for two days and got curious what was going on with my blood sugar today.I tested at 84, and that seems rather high being I am in a fasted state (water only today and only coffee yesterday). Does anyone have any experience with this? Just curious. Thanks.

Oh.. Thank you for the quick response. So can I assume that number is perfectly acceptable then?

^^ if you start getting cold hands/feet, or hair loss, or depression.. I would look into the thryoid, and specifically adding back some more carbs. This happens to a lot of people after being very low carb for awhile.

I have had hair loss since last fall. But no cold extrmemities and no depression. I had my thyroid and hormones checked in 12/11 and was told that everything was normal by a natural praticing doctor. I don't seem to have any signs of thyroid issues other than hair loss. Also I am not really low carb. I eat plenty of veggies and berries and even some white rice and sweet potatoes occasionally.

Hair loss could be a lot of things. Did you get your t3/t4 checked?

here is some extensive information on thyroid health:
    Thyroid Disorders

He did talk about hair loss.. and other treatments for it at one point... ARGGHHH it is definitely linked to lower testosterone, and then he goes into the possible causes for that issue....

The benefits of fasting drop off after about 36 hours according to what I've read in Eat Stop Eat. Also, you could have elevated blood sugar from the regular servings of carbs you eat. You might consider replacing those calories with fat or protein.
