Hi Everyone, I'm about 13 days into primal and loving it. 29yo female with about 35lbs to lose total. Just this week I started tracking my macronutrients. I'm wondering people's advice/personal successful experiences with macronutrient ratio - specifically for weight loss. What did you shoot for? Where did you find fat burning to be most effective? Thanks!
Personally.. 50-100g on rest days and higher on lifting days >200. Anything lower does not give me any weight loss benefits but does make me feel like crap even after doing it for many many weeks with no cheats.

There's no magic macro-nutrient ratio that's optimal for all humans. The best thing you can do is eat a diet based on real foods, and use something like the carb curve mark came up with as a starting point. As time goes on, tweak your diet to find a ratio that works for you. If you listen to the opinions of every expert and diet guru on the internet you'll end up being an orthorexic mess that tries to derive sustenance from sunlight and love energy.
Carbs will keep you fat most of the year except summer. You might want to consider something fairly low carb like the leptin reset till summer then enjoy carbs over the summer in moderation till fall hits.

for weight loss, macro composition means nothing, calories are key. if low fat is easier, go low-fat. i think that i, and most people find that low carb/high fat is more satiating, but honestly it's up to you. talking strictly fat loss here - calories are everything.
