I already have severe myopia (-6.5ish), so I don't know if there's any benefit, but it would be worth it to freak out my optometrist.
How long have you been at -6.50? Do you wear glasses / contacts consistently throughout the day, and during near work?

The program will work well for an individual matching that case description - there is no way to create one effective scenario for cases. It won't be a detriment for you, but you would get more benefit doing something tailored to your case. A large contributor to the massive 25% vision improvement in that short time is similar as you may have experienced first getting into the 'primal' lifestyle. The initial results don't continue to accumulate at the same rate, as your progress!

That initial boost is psychologically key to ongoing vision improvement. A client who experiences a huge gain in vision in two months will be highly motivated, fully believe in his / her ability to make progress, and because of that will continue to make good progress. You are that -4.00 guy, you come to us, two months later you cut your prescription by 25% and aren't even wearing glasses part of the day. This is a powerful experience. You will be excited and motivated, fully enrolled, seeing glasses as a crutch that you're looking to shed from your life.

There is much less of that psychological advantage in a generic program or self experimentation.

You are bound to experience frustration from exercises that don't quite work, confusing symptoms, and while you will make progress, in 60 days it may be too small to notice. It's akin to trying to teach yourself a complex skill without guidance, reliable instruction. Someone determined will persevere and their vision will improve, but it's a more challenging experience.

The program fits the most common type of myopia case. It is my best idea at bringing something actionable to the table for you. Depending on how well it is received, how active the participants are, and how much time it takes from my practice, we may get into some variations later on (like more severe myopia cases).

I've been worse than -6 for over 15 years. I wear contacts all day most days.

    Annual eye exams?

Recovery potential from stabilized high myopia is unpredictable without some exploratory work. All depends whether you have a strong desire to reduce prescription and put in the time for it (significant effort, and 20/20 is a very long shot). At 36 there is still a lot of plasticity, if you were to try, sooner is better. In any case, you do want to keep up with eye exams to catch further degradation (in which case at least some work to keep your prescription stabilized would be wise).

If any graphic designers or illustrators follow this discussion, I could much use help in trying to put some helpful guides online.

I'm not, but I'm willing to give any help I can (I'm always looking for new skills and I have an entire free summer to learn). I can also speak to a few people I know who are.

Unfortunately not. We see about 60% less cases of presbyopia reported by our clients of the past getting into that age range, than the general population. Being a small practice however, and focused on myopia, we do not have a treatment program for you.

    Annual eye exam yesterday. Report:

    - My vision measured 1/4 diopter BETTER than last year. Yes, he explained that this is within normal variation - but not once in my whole life has this happened, even since I stabilized years ago. Never. Ever. And it was at the very end of an extremely stressful - extremely - day. I learned that my glasses Rx is like -8.50. I never knew glasses Rx's were stronger than contacts.

    - 14yo DD's eyes are still stable, after two years nearly 100% grain-free, and severe degradation from age 7-12 (-5.50 is her *contact* Rx).

    - 10yo DS's eyes were 1/4 - 1/2 diopter worse. Not bad given family history. Just barely changed from last year, which was just barely changed from the year before, so we'll likely consider new lenses this year ... or not, since he refuses to wear them. I still don't understand why they get worse, and not better, since he doesn't wear the glasses & doesn't do near work.

    Overall, very pleased, yet again!

10yo: Reading? Computer games? There are myopia cases that are not stress induced but they aren't all too common.

On the 60 day myopia rehab front ... we found someone to help us with the visual aspects of the program, and I have been putting in a few hours per day towards documenting exercises. A time consuming undertaking, but hopefully the end result will benefit a larger audience.

Add your e-mail to list, I'll send out an e-mail when it's ready (if you have somewhere around a -4.00 prescription especially), of course it will be free, here: 60 Day Myopia Challenge

The 10yo does not read or play computer/video games. Well, he knows how to read, but doesn't, lol. Not more than 20m per day, and prior to six months ago (he lost his vision from age 7-8, hardly any progression since), not at all.

Fascinating thread. It makes so much sense and gives me hope to improve my vision.

Wondering why Alex was banned, he provided a great service with all of his information.

He seemed like one of the good guys, not many in science type profession who are so enlightened. Why the heck would he have been banned. Just read through this thread and it is very interesting and what he says seems to make sense.
