Dairy & oats contain lectins which can cause digestive issues & weight gain. I don't tolerate either & so minimize rather than eating as a daily food. I have celiac.

Good morning! I'll just stick my two cents worth in to add another example.

I've done a lot of tweaking on primal to experiment.

I replaced meat with dairy for four days.
    I gained four pounds.
I dropped dairy and went back to meat.
I lost the four pounds in two days and kept losing.

    Grains:

    I dropped all grains.
I have never had the need to binge since.

So, for me, for whatever reason, I like the results. I have lost 11.6 pounds since 1/16/12 and 9 inches. Those are the only changes I have made. Sugar, processed foods and vegetable oils, beans, nuts, etc. were only a negligible part of my previous vegetable, grain, and fruit diet.

I have lowered fruit intake as well, but it was never huge.

Hope this adds to your search.

Yeah a lot of info is good. Thanks for the comments.

And to Lopisheep, You said you replaced meat with dairy but by how much? I was only saying maybe eating some type of dairy once or a few times per week not completely replacing your main source of food and eating a lot.

I would put plain whole milk yogurt on vegetables or cheese on vegetables or in my salads. It wasn't a lot -- no milk. I did have a small bit of organic ice cream during those four days, but it didn't add up to the quantity of meat I previously ate, by a long shot. I started feeling stuffed in a strange way -- not as in stuffed from a lot, but like it stuck somewhere on the way down -- a heavy feeling.

Yes, it was an experiment -- not what I'd plan as a lifestyle. I was just checking the possible effects of dairy.

Vegetables have always been my main source of food -- except for a very brief period as a fruitarian(about 3 days) -- which was rather funny and did not make me a happy camper:-)

Well, I dunno. I would go on about what type of cheese you used how much whole milk yogurt you used a day. You said it wasn't a lot though.

I will try one day to bring dairy back into my diet and see how it affects me. Will only have it for one meal a day though.

Pasturized dairy is total crap. Raw, especially goat milk, is very beneficial.

What about other forms of dairy like cheese, butter, and yogurt?

so was Mark, but there's a difference between being in great shape; and being healthy.
