I'm at 25 hours and feeling fine. The tummy growled a bit at noon today but stopped in a couple of minutes. I made dinner for my Dad (reheated the quiche and made a salad) and didn't feel tempted at all.

Nice experiences so far!
I followed up my 23 hour fast (23 because i counted from the end) with an 18/6 hour window the last 2 days, usually with a late lunch around 2 pm, a fruit around 4pm and a meal around 7pm. I had coffees an hour before lunch with heavy cream, thats why i count 6/18. I do make sure getting enough variety and especially veggies and protein. I will try my next fast Thursday to Friday, not that i want to make weekly 24hour fasts a habit *yet, but i will be having a day alone and won't happen to have that soon again (leading a camp in July)
I woke up at around hour 19 and felt Fabulous! I am feeling really good about making it 36 or even 48 this time.
Thank you for bringing up the Fast Five, I thought I was doing something really bad for my body when I originally lost a lot of weight. I ate around one meal a day and CW told me that *gasp* you skipped breakfast! you are killing your body! It is nice to know that this is an acceptable way to eat.
How much body fat do you want to lose?
Reliance,
I am not sure if you are asking me or someone else so I'll just answer
I am looking to go from 167 (CW) to about 139 (GW) but I am getting a fit test to tell me what BF% I am at now on Thursday so I'll have a better picture of what I'm looking to lose percentage wise.
Morning all~
Day 2!! I'm at the 36 hr. mark, doing good. I weighed this morning~ down 4½ pounds~ no wonder I was feeling so logy. Guess it wasn't just the heat. Planning on fasting until Wednesday dinner, but that could go +/- depending on my body signals. If everything is going really good I'll extend it.
Fast happy, everyone!![]()

@Nady - 4.5lbs in 36 hours? That's loads!
I don't have a scale so uh I'm eyeballing my progress. My tummy's definitely deflated yay! Also, I DID find it easier today, like you guys said. I'm at 38hrs. Woohoo! My target was 40hrs but I'm going to bed now. I think I'll break it at 50hrs. At this moment I feel like I could just go on forever but perhaps it's better to go slow and steady, and shoot for more in a few weeks' time. Impulse decisions about food usually ends badly for me
Stomach was growling rather audibly ~32hrs. Took a swig of coconut cream. All fine after. Energy level was pretty constant. My one concern is that I've always been borderline anemic - sporadic dizziness and fainting episodes. Not a huge deal, but it's gotten better since I started eating more red meat, and I'm happy to note that although I felt a bit light-headed today, it was nowhere close to a dizzy spellI've always been rejected for blood donation though - anyone knows if being primal might eventually help adjust blood pressure enough to donate blood? I remain optimistic.
Another question before I go to bed. For those who IF frequently/daily, do you find a difference having your biggest meal in the day vs in the evenings?
Hope everyone's doing well, keep the updates coming! Over and out.
You do realize that 4.5 pounds was 4 pounds of water~Glad you're finding this a positive experience! And when you eat is probably an individual thing~ when I eat in the morning/early afternoon, my energy just crashes. I only want a nap. So, for me, I save eating until late afternoon/evening~ a *after the hunt* kind of thing. That way, I can relax and just digest!
Checking in a little late today, as I had some morning errands. Woke up at 35 hours in, feeling good. Still no hunger. There was some stomach rumbling at 11:00 this morning, but it felt and sounded more like movement than hunger. Keeping busy today, which I know will keep my mind off the habit hunger. I am making a quiche for my family's dinner tonight, a la Paleobird. It sounds good in an abstract sort of way, but I feel no desire to have anything myself. I think after my indulgences this past week, my body is LIKING having a break from food. (No, I didn't indulge in anticipation of the fast, it was a scheduled thing.)
Interesting post about IF from Mark today. I was glad to read again that the cancer patients had positive results regardless of sex. Although I find I am eating two meals a day more frequently (as opposed to 3 or 3+ snacks), it has been a natural occurrence: I have not planned an IF more than a couple of times. For myself, I do not think I would consider it an IF until I was holding off even when hungry. Until that point, I think I would just be eating naturally, regardless of schedule.
My natural hunger has changed since I've gone primal, and I think even more than I realized, as I was astounded to find how long it takes me to get hungry. As I become more attuned to when I am really hungry, and as I approach my healthy weight, and presumably need to eat more often as my storage goes down, I will be interested to see what changes occur. I think we always need to remember that we are not static machines- that what is right for us at one time, may change.
Hope y'all are having as good a time as I am. Let's hear from you!
