Might sound strange, but this weekend I found a certain amount of bliss in genoa salami topped with almond butter.
A while back Mark posted about how to economize on primal meals by thinking in terms of three: a protein, a fat, a vegetable.
Nudged also by a post Bryan Appleyard (the great British journalist who got me on the primal path last year) made on his blog recently:
"I have nothing to report other than the fact that, though still adhering to my near zero carb diet, I have discovered that 85 per cent Lindt chocolate smeared with Marscarpone is so delicious that it brings tears to my eyes even to mention it. I have no idea why that came into my head."
I have two blissful pairings so far that are just as quick & easy for the busy/lazy among us:
1 Scrambled omelette using coconut oil - will experiment adding coconut milk to see if I can get scrambled egg fluffiness with an even stronger "coconutty" flavor. This is my go-to breakfast on those hectic days when I know I'm not going to get time for a decent lunch.
2 Instant guacamole: halve a ripe avocado and simply shake whatever strength of Marie Sharp's hot sauce into the crater left by the pit. Give the other half to a loved one to enjoy with you to make it even more of a blissful pairing.
Any more primal / low-carb marriages in heaven out there?
