It is always risky to watch a movie adaption of books we love. If the director's vision doesn't match ours, there can be trouble.
I remember going into a RAGE over the movie of 'The Black Cauldron'. They completely changed one of the most meaningful parts of the book. Where was the redemption?!? The sacrifice?!? I still get into a fluster thinking about it.
'The Bourne Identity' was another one that did it to me. They took out the reason why the heroine (and the reader) can trust that Bourne is a good guy, and brought it down to cash. WHY???!!! I didn't watch #2 and #3 because I couldn't get over that omission in #1, although I enjoy Matt Damon and the action was good. Just too much of a sticking point.
Hmmm, seem to have gone into a little rant, here. Can you tell I love my stories?

I hear you loud and clear. I was a MySpace friend with a screenplay writer who was present at the initial screening of Prince Caspian. The makers asked the representatives of C.S. Lewis' estate what they thought. Nice movie, but you completely missed the point of the story.

Yes, that is infuriating. I find it's best to watch the movie first, read the book after. Somehow, it rarely disappoints in that direction. I've been meaning to read The Bourne Identity just because I've heard they completely turned the story upside-down in the movie. I found the movies OK, but action thrillers usually strain my suspension of disbelief to the breaking point. I try not to consciously look for the unrealities, but as soon as I start thinking, they lose me. I loved Red on the other hand, because it was deliberately laughing at the absurdities. Ditto for The Last Action Hero.

Hi Jamie! Nice to have you here I'm glad you enjoy the journal! I believe I'll need to check yours out a bit more.

Pam, she was fine by yesterday evening. Enough so that she pranked our downstairs neighbor with a dead snake (if you were related to me, you understand that this is actually more hilarious than the surface level laugh that it brings). She found a decapitated snake body and brought it home. I'm not scared of this kind of stuff, so she felt the need to get someone. While I wasn't paying attention, she took it downstairs and put it on my neighbors ashtray (which is actually a birdbath). All I heard was Jadi shreek and then yell at Gabi. Her excuse was that she knew she coudln't scare me, so she had to prank someone else.

Oh, I loved Last Action Hero!

I think "Hunger Games" sort of did the same to Gabi. They left out alot, but they also changed some key parts. I wasn't happy, but I know why they did it. First of all, time had to be taken into consideration. If they wanted to do a better job, they could have made it a two part. That would have meant the first movie would have been slow, so it probably wouldn't have sold. She's informed me that if the next movie messes up the books even more, she's not going to consider seeing the third one. I'm already ready for the next one, just as I'm ready for the next "Girl With" movie.

Ok, today was a much better day, for the most part. My new word to keep a hold of is fearless. Now, let's not mistake this for the kind of fearless that has landed me in the hospital quite a few times in the past. This would be mostly fearless at work. Although I do have to use some sense there or that could lead me to a hospital visit if I'm not careful at times. There's no place for the unnecessary fear I have developed. None whatsoever. Fearless and focused.

I did maybe get a little carried away with sugar again today, but I'm going to see if I can try out ecks philosophy on my sugar issue. If I don't mind not having sugar, it don't matter! Basically that's how I see it. Now to apply it

Gabi's been asleep almost since we got home. She's had dry throat today, even though she was fine this morning. So, made her some more of that tea, along with three teaspoons of honey. No, it's not local because I haven't been to my local lady in a while. I think it helped. Right now, I don't want to wake her up. I'd rather let her rest than wake her and give her peppermint tea with honey and some soup. The only thing I worry about is that she'll wake up in the middle of the night and want me up. We'll see what happens.

    Today
    Breakfast: 2 slices bacon
S: Mixed berries, the last 1/2 of my Fearless Chocolate 74% Dark Chocolate (wonder if they have darker online, good stuff), handful of macadamia nuts
L: Salad with homemade dressing and one small avocado. Two leftover organic beef burgers
S: 3 tootsie rolls (2 small and one large) and the rest of my Theo Dark Chocolate
    D: 2 German sausages
    Drinks: Water
Exercise: 10 Min Trainer Total Body and Abs

Woo! Spambot! I thought I recognised the post... it's one of mine! thanks niualaals94...

Keep us up on the sugar addiction hun! Maybe something else to try is to push yourself into a state of ketosis (the state where your body is truely burning fat over sugar). This should help cravings because your body will request fat instead of sugar in your food.

The sugar addiction is kicking my butt lately!

In the meantime, I'm getting our stuff washed and packed to go camping at Palo Duro State Park. If any of you are ever out this way, it's pretty much the best place to visit! The road might seem like it's about to fall off on your way there, but it's purdy!

I almost made it today with lower sugar intake. Almost. I'm getting closer. Maybe I need to be fearless in this area? Nope, I don't think that's it. I need to put my foot down more. Yikes!

Today was so much better at work. At first I thought I was going to miss out on the chance to try something that I've been wanting to try, but I did finally get my shot at it. Oh my goodness, now I know how those guys feel when they're on the ladder trying to work and like you've got 3 or 4 people below handing stuff up. Since this was technically my first time, I also had people yelling (cause we all had protective ear muffs on) and trying to give me advice. I think I lost it a little bit, but managed to keep that outwardly under control. I need like one person talking to me to walk me through stuff, not 3 or 4! The good news is, I only had to do it once and I've got the confidence I need to do it again. Fearless and focused. My two words. Oh, and love Can't forget that one cause it's the most important one!

Phew, I just bought more camping stuff for the kid and me. I asked her if she knew that we still had both sleeping bags. She was able to account for one, so I had to get another cheap one, but I also bought a stove. We're not primitive campers (at least not together we aren't) just yet. Maybe when she's older we'll try that out. I don't mind sort of living off of the land and maybe some home snacks that are light. She's the one I've got to worry about.

    Today
B: 6 pcs bacon (I knew we'd be busy at work this morning, so I wanted to load up on protein and fat)
S: 1 small avocado, mixed berries, 1 oz macadamia nuts
L: Leftover sausage and salad with homemade dressing
S: Some of the Fearless Chocolate 70% with Dried Coconut. Not sure how much, but New Earths Banana Nut walnut mix
D: OHHHHHHHHHH! I forgot that I had this carb loader for dinner. Glutino's single serve Spinach and Feta pizza on brown rice dough. Probably, I could have done without the dough, but I wanted to try it anyway. I needed something I didn't have to worry about tonight, so I caved. Hmmm, going to try not to do that again.
S: Dark Chocolate Almonds dusted in cacao powder, like probably 5 total. I was making some trail mix stuff for this weekend and wanted to try one.........
    Drinks: Water
Exercise: 10 Min Trainer Abs and Yoga Flex

I'm so ready for tomorrow! I can't wait to try out the new camp stove! Oh, I still need to buy more bacon.
