Baking up some spinach chips and reading. I got to enjoy the first tomato off Gabi's plant today. Yum! I think I'll make some beet chips today as well.
Lol, that's awesomeI just couldn't get into the book like everyone else did.
Well, Gabi's up and feeling icky. I'm going to run up to the store and grab some stuff to make teas and soups. I plan on catching up on some much needed reading and music today while she's resting and doing some small stuff to keep her occupied while chilling out for the day.

I love Holmes. In fact, I just learned how to write Sherlock Holmes in Russian and put it on a special piece of paper with new Russian words that make me happy. Looks pretty cool in Cyrillic.
Hey, I'm totally with you on TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD. LORD OF THE FLIES was another one I couldn't get into. But then, I love CRIME AND PUNISHMENT, so go figure. I plan to read C and P in Russian some day (I'll probably need to live a long time). Thought I'd start THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA in Russian, but I'm not quite (hmmm -- quite is a euphamism here) ready, so I'm going through another grammar book in preparation.!
I haven't read "The Chronicles of Narnia" in forever! I remember watching the movies from back in the 80's or 90's and being creeped out by the first White Witch. I couldn't even hear the words Turkish Delight without getting chills.
Hey, it's nice to know I'm not alone about TKAMB. I have no dislike toward Harper Lee though.
In other news, so sad to hear about Maurice Sendak's passing.
"The wild things roared their terrible roars and gnashed their terrible teeth and rolled their terrible eyes and showed their terrible claws till Max said "BE STILL!" and tamed them with the magic trick of staring into all their yellow eyes without blinking once and they were frightened and called him the most wild thing of all and made him king of all the wild things. "And now," cried Max, "let the wild rumpus start!"
Maurice, you were the man. I couldn't read this book enough to Gabi when she was a little girl. Tonight, we'll read it in your honor!

OH yeah, today's post! I stayed home with Gabi because she was sick today, so I sort of lounged around. I did get in a workout and even managed to bake some chips! Spinach and beet chips to be exact. Phew, 3 beets go a long way when thinly sliced!
Today
B: skipped, didn't need it for today
L: 2 pcs bacon and a leftover burger. Had one gluten free cracker
S: More of the Theo and Fearless chocolate bars. Also, snacked on quite a few of my spinach and beet chips. I'm not even sure how many I had today to be honest. The beet chips were sooooooooo good. Saving some to take in for tomorrow.
D: Scallop piccata and steamed artichoke with butter sauce to dip
Drinks: Water!
Exercise: 10 minute Cardio and Yoga Flex
I spent quite a bit of time in the kitchen during the late afternoon. Well worth it. Now it's time for relaxation and bed time.

Love the picture. Ah, yes:-)
How is Gabi? Hope she's all well. Not fun to have itsies -- even mature young lady ones -- sick.
And then there's IN THE NIGHT KITCHEN. Our copy has to be handled gently, it is so old!
