I really love haupia, is there any way I can make this primal friendly? I can do without the sugar. What about the corn starch?

I make it with agar agar and stevia! I actually have some in the fridge right now!

    2 cups Coco milk

    2 cups milk

    stevia to taste

    2 T agar-agar flakes OR 2 T gelatin

If using gelatin bloom with warm water for about 5 min, then all everything to a saucepan and simmer for about 5 min.

If using agar-agar flakes add to saucepan and add coconut milk. Boil for about 10-15 minutes until ALL the flakes are dissolved. Add milk and stevia and heat for about a minute.

Pour mix into pan and chill overnight! YUYUMYUM.

The gelatin one will be like jello jigglers a little, while the agar-agar one will be more firm and sliceable. I like the texture of the agar-agar one better!

YUMYUMYUM! Toots, what brand of stevia do you use/recommend? The one time I tried dried Stevia leaf powder, I almost spat it out, it had a really weird after-taste.

I like stevia in the raw. By itself its NASTY but if you use a bit in food... I quite like it. Also you need waywaywaywayWAYway less stevia to get the same sweetness as sugar so if you overdo it its BITTER.
