It doesn't have to feel like an onslaught. If it does, maybe don't eat so much in one sitting. Stop counting calories and you won't have a mental model to make you feel you have to eat more than you are able to, or make you feel you were deprived if you don't eat X number of calories in a day. Seriously, eat to satisfaction. Period. If you get hungry between your two meals, then eat a third meal or a small meal (aka a snack). Just don't graze all day on snacks.
