I have purchased almond butter and used it in recipes but have not consumed it otherwise. I used to eat PB as part of my afternoon snack, and since I don't snack anymore, I have no use for PB, and no place to add AB in substitute for PB... does that even make sense? lol

    Your dinner sounds so yummy!

jenn...legumes are not forbidden (I don't think)...its just they should be limited greatly. So it may be ok to have a bit of PB...altho I'd be sure it was organic, natural & not have a bunch of crappy stuff in it. I bought a jar of almond butter...but haven't tried it yet.

loved your list Candy!!! It ties in so much with what some of us are thinking about now! Great minds all think alike!!! lol We all seem to be coming to the same conclusions on our journey to wellness!!

And thank you for going over to visit my journal! We are all in this together & having a support group makes it so much more fun & helpful!! I don't know what I'd do without Pam(lopisheep), sabine, CJ(longing2bfit), jenn, ecks, & all the others...including of course our very own Gay Panda!! And now you!!! How kewl is it to have a pal in Belgium!!!

I'm hitting the subscribe button so I can keep up with you!!!
    have a great day!

Peanuts are off limits b/c they are prone to mold contamination, corn too. And the mold is a known carcinogen from what I'm reading.

I do love peanuts though... it's really a shame.

I also love almonds so I'm getting by pretty well. Except I just discovered last night that my beloved lightly salted almonds are dunked in one of three different veggie oils, so I guess I'll have to buy them raw and oil/salt them myself so it can be done in a good for me oil - I bet they'd be good in coconut oil! Might try that tonight!!!

oh that's right!! I forgot about that. And I guess even organic grown ones would be as well. I need to open that jar of almond butter & see how it tastes! Might be just the ticket when you just need "that little something". Let us know how roasting your own almonds works out! You could do the same with pecans...walnuts...etc. Even add a little spice(s) to them too!!! Good idea!

I wrote this on Hanna's journal, I was thinking about this last night:

And if he didn't feel bad after eating them, he would probably eat them again .
I think we're all different, some of us cope well with (lots of) dairy (or eggs, or a little rice one in a while), others just can't eat any. But if it works for you (like rice for primalcajun) maybe you've just adapted to it. If you see it doesn't do you any harm in the long run (and if it's not 'sabotaging' any weight loss or causing auto-immune issues) why stress over a little this or that because "it's not Paleo/primal"?

Weekend trips without the kids are nice. Everyone needs some time away to de-stress.
I LOVE PB. It is a trigger food for me so i have not had any in ages. I noticed when i was in Earth Fare they had some chocolate PB. People are so evil.
