I'm glad to hear that it was busy-ness keeping you away, and not your back. I was a little concerned that you were still in pain. Glad to know things are better for you, in lots of ways from the looks of things.
Good to hear you're feeling better! Good luck on the new adventure!I hope it brings much success!

Hey chica! Thanks for the links on my facebook conversation with Vicky. She's a fiesty one, but she isn't arguing with me about it... which is what I appreciate about her. I'm sure she won't convert or anything, but she won't argue it either.
Glad you're feeling better.

Thanks for thinking of me girls
Yesterday we started thinking about our christmas menu (no, I don't believe, but it's tradition and it's a nice occasion to come together with the whole family). My part of the family (my parents, brother, sister and their partners and children - we'll be 8 adults, 2 teenagers, 3 children and 1 baby in total) comes to our house every year on the 24th. Then the 25th we go to my in-laws (my mom then invites her mom and aunt and my brother and his wife and kids, as they don't have to go to in-laws).
It will be my first Primal christmas dinner. My SIL is a picky eater, so I try to keep that in mind (not making anything spicy *sigh* ). Meat will be this: http://candyinwonderland.wordpress.c...pork-shoulder/. Now we need to decide what we'll make for antipasti, first course, side dishes and dessert.

Here's to simple and delicious recipes! I honestly had never thought of slow-cooking a roast in the oven. I will have to try that some time.

Christmas dinner with my extended families is "set in stone". (And the same at both places)
Turkey, dressing, cranberries, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, turnip/squash, a salad, buns.
Multiple desserts.
One year, we tried lasagna and salad. It was NOT repeated.

Lasagna (with home-made noodles) is a holiday requisite with my in-laws. Somebody usually brings a turkey too though, because none of their kids married Italians, and we do like to have us a bit of turkey.
My kids always hated dressingso that one had kind of fallen away over time anyway.

my in-laws always do India food for any family gathering. MIL and FIL were missionnairies for 36 years, and all 4 boys were raised in India - so curry is the staple in that family. I do miss the american traditional turkey and all the fixings meal. My own family doesn't even gather on the holidays anymore - a family rift about 20 years ago put a stop to it. the rift has since been healed but we still don't gather at the holidays. I'm thinking next Thanksgiving will be a good time to try to start that tradition again.
